Easier to book? BCV Studio or 1 Bedroom?

A friend of my husband is letting us rent DVC points from him!

The DVC owner's home resort is at Saratoga Springs but we are trying for the Beach Club Villas! Our trip isn't until Oct 27-Nov 7th of 2009 but I have heard it can be hard or next to impossible to get a reservation at BCV if it isn't your "Home Resort"?? How true is this? I'm hoping maybe the slow economy and high gas prices will somehow slow people from taking vacations next year?

Does anyone know what type of villa "sells out" quickest? Is it the Studio or 1 Bedroom? I'm just trying to think of ways to maximize our odds of getting into the BCV!

Any and all tips/suggestions are MUCH appreciated!

The studios go before the 1-BR, since they accomodate basically the same number of people but cost twice the points. You'd have more luck going for a 1-BR than a Studio.

BCV is one of my home resorts and I book our studio at exactly the 11 month mark for the last week in October. BCV studios book fast especially during Food & Wine. I have been wait listed at BWV since the 7 month mark - nothing yet. I would wait list for both the one BR and the studio and see what comes in first.
