Earthquake Today!

Hey gang, we just had a pretty good shaker here in OC!

It's been a few years since I've felt one that strong, and that lasted that long. The news is saying it was centered up around Chino Hills, probably on the Whittier fault, but it was definitely felt here in OC. So far no news on Disneyland, as the radio and TV is focusing on some shopping centers or grocery stores that have made everyone stand in the parking lot afterwards. Phone service and cell phones have also gone out, at least temporarily, but my cable and Internet is still on.

This wasn't strong enough to break windows or anything, and I doubt there is any damage at Disneyland at all, but I imagine it was strong enough to shut down rides and cause some disruption to normal operation.

It was scary. I hate earthquakes...

The talk that's been going around these parts is that we're due for a big one soon. :(

But thankfully this one didn't do any damage.

ABC and CNN are reporting that all rides were shut down and evac'd. They have to be inspected and will reportedly reopen by mid to late afternoon.

I should add that I'm in Escondido, about an hour and a half away from DL and I felt a fair amount of shaking.

BIG shaker. It was based about 7 miles from me...ROLLING ground, and rumbling....But nothing broke or fell over, so its all good. My poor Kiwi cat is not leaving my side tho! 3.5 aftershocks....

^My cat isn't leaving my side, either.

I've been feeding him chicken for being such a good boy.

No aftershocks felt here, thank God.

I'm in Escondido too, but work in Solana Beach. I was really surprised that we even felt it down here! No aftershocks though. At least, none that we felt.
