Early Morning Breakfast

Hello all.. I have an early morning ADR at 'Ohana.. We will be staying at POFQ.. I was just wondering what the best way to get there was? Should we call for a taxi or is there some other way that might be better?
Thanks for your input!

If it is after or at the same time as park opening, you could also take a bus to the Morning EMH park, then the bus from the park to the Poly. It's a little complicated, but beats paying and driving.

Other than that, call a cab or drive.

If it's a really, really early breakfast you can go to the concierge desk at the resort the evening before and let them know you need transportation to the Poly at ___ time. They'll let you know what options are available. There IS transportation to the other resorts early. I think they need to know you need it, tho. If it were me (I am not a morning person or a patient person) I would take a cab. It's door to door service and it's fast. You don't necessarily have to "call" the cab. Last May when DH & I were there we took cabs a lot. Just walk out the front door and go straight into the parking lot. There's a whole slew of cabbies that sit there waiting for a fare. Just ask 'em who's next in the rotation and you'll be to your destination in no time.

I stayed at POFQ before and never saw cabs lined up. I saw them at Grand Floridian and Boardwalk so I'm guessing they're mostly at the deluxe hotels. Anyways, when we needed one we just called down to the front desk and told them what time we would need a cab and they got one for us.

Last May when hubby & I were there if you walked straight out into the parking lot directly in front of the main building all the way out the farthest away just past the big tree there was always a group of no less than 3 or 4 cabs sitting there listening to radios, talking, waiting, etc. You could also see them when sitting at the bus depots right out in front of you across the way. We used the cabs as early as 7 in the morning and they were there. Throughout the day if we waited for a bus that didn't come and we thought we might be late for an ADR we'd just walk out to them. It was great. I think the most expensive fare we had the entire trip was maybe $15 + tip. I don't know if the cabs have changed in the last year but they were a constant presence in that location when we were there.

On a side-note, one of the cabs we used to take all our loot to the Contemporary's business center to ship home was the funniest ride ever. We experienced what we now fondly refer to as "The Cursing Cabby". This guy was so funny to us. Somehow he and the hubby got to talking politics & oil and this guy had some really strong feelings. I think every other word was either the f-bomb or the big G-D-it. I was in stitches listening to him talk. It was so unexpected that it ended up being funny in the moment. I'm sure he would never have talked like that if kids had been in the van. He was very polite and most likely heard the hubby slip one out there before he felt okay with letting it fly, too. Sooooo funny!

Disney will provide transportation to those early morning breakfast ADRs but you will need to arrange for it at the front desk. Just let them know where and when and they will take care of the rest.

MasterYoda, my question always was how far in advance of the ADR will Disney transport want to pick you up? It seems like the hubby asked and it was like an hour or something like that. I'm soooo not a morning person so I'll squeeze in every last minute of sleep that I can. That's our primary reasoning for just grabbing a cab: I'm Grumpy in the early mornings. :D

The time can vary depending on where your resort is relative to the route but an hour is pretty typical. You are correct, a cab is quicker and you can arrange for it the day before, but for those on a tight budget Disney does have a free option.

Hi sweetpee!

I took the earlllllly morning bus to a breakfast at Chef Mickey's in September. We were staying at Pop and had a 7:30am seating at CM. The bus picked us up at about 7:00 and it dropped us at the Contemporary and a few other people at the Poly. I hope that helps a little?

Busses start running earlier than the parks opening, so you should be able to hop on the MK bus from POFQ, and take the Resort Monorail over to the Poly! That is what we do for our 8am ADR for Kona everytime we go!
