we went in sept 06 - oct 06 and the where still quite a few people around, but not as many as the peak seasons. we had a gr8 time and didnt have to wait that long at all for any of the rides, i think 45 mins was the longest we waited but that was the new roller coaster. thought that was good, cant wait to go back.
i would say any time in october would be good, check out the weather over the past few years that might help you decide.
happy planning

we were there Oct 14 - 23 2007 and most days were very light with the crowds. esp the extra magic evenings...i would recommend the evenings.

do the MNSSHP as the MK was pretty much walk up to any attraction.

have fun

For the most part the crowds are fairly consistent throughout the month of October. Epcot will tend to be considerably busier on the weekends due to locals at the F&WF and if I am not mistaken there are some year round school districts outside the state of Florida that have an October break that tends to increase crowds. If someone can provide an October school break schedule I would avoid those weeks.

According to Len Testa's (OG) crowd calendar, Oct 10-11 will be a somewhat crowded, and Oct 28-29 will be some of the least crowded days of the year. But overall your week is quite tolerable it seems.

On this calendar the last week of Oct is less crowded than the rest of the month.
