Early 2014 discounts coming soon?

So I just saw a "last chance" ad come up on this site for Fall Free Dining, which must be booked by 9/15. Frequently, it seems, Disney announces new deals after the last one has ended. Does that mean deals for early 2014 will be coming soon? Anyone heard any whispers of what they may offer???

Stay Play and Dine was released around November 2012. I remember because my 45 days deadline was December 23rd and I was able to apply the discount for our February trip. I'd guess if any discounts are released, they will be around the same timeframe.

I am not sure what discount I am hoping for- free dining, adult stay, play and dine or kids stay, play and dine or just a general room discount. Ahh calculator here I come!

Our trip is booked for Jan 3rd-9th 2014, all the examples on mousesavers.com says that there is a 15-35% discount for room only. How does that work? We have a package booked, so would they just take some money off the price of our room? What if we have our plan paid off by the time they release the deal, will we get some money back?

They'll refund your credit card or you can apply it as a room credit. I like the room credit idea because it can take up to 2 cycles for the CC company to give you back your money.

Room credit... how would I get to use that? This is my first time planning a trip!
If you leave your credit card number on file and use your room key to charge things to your room account, your room account would begin with a credit (whatever money you are due because of a discount you got after paying full-price for your room.) The credit would apply towards any charges you make.

You won't automatically get the discount if one is offered. You will have to call Disney and ask them if they can apply the promo to your reservation. Once that is done, if the trip is already paid off then they will credit the credit card that you used to pay it off. If your trip is not yet paid in full, the balanced owed will just decrease.

The January/February discounts were room only or room and ticket discounts the past few years, and were announced in early Oct. Haven't heard any rumors on dates in the travel agent community. If you already have booked a room, you would call Disney as soon as the offer is announced. If your using a Disney travel agent, they'll automatically do that for you.

Does room only mean if you book a package the discount only comes off the price of the room, not the tickets or dining plan?

Room only discounts are when you reserve just a room and not a package with MYW tickets. If you book a package and a room only discount later comes out, I'm not sure that you can convert it to a RO discount. Generally when you have a room reservation with a deposit, and a package discount is later announced, you can't convert it to the package. Disney would refund your deposit and rebook the reservation.
