I don't believe they have e-ride nights any more. They now have EMH mornings or nights, which are only accessible to resort guests.

Yea its extra magic hours and its not as good as e-night was. They let us do splash 6 times without getting off.(we wanted the perfect picture with our group.) The last 2 EMH we have done, it was very busy on all the open rides. Well not the TTA:lol:

  Since when did they get rid of e-ride night?!? My family did that in the summer of '04 and thought it was the greatest. I do have to agree that the whole extra magic hours isn't that great since the park is mostly at the same crowd level as it was during the normal hours and you don't even come near to the amount of rides you would get done during extra magic hours as you would with e-ride night.

E-ride nights have been gone for quite some time now. EMH is the nightime thing now, in addition to the 3 after hours parties throughout the year.

It's not just the crowds it's also the way certain attractions seem to go down just as late night entry is about to begin.... ala SM. :brick:

E ride nights and Extra Magic Hours is really the same thing. Both of them you had to be a guest at the resorts at Disney.
The only difference is that hotel guest's now do not have to pay an extra 12.95 to do it.

You have your busy nights and you have your slow nights. That happened in E ride nights and Extra Magic Hours.

The nice thing about EMH's is they do it for not only the MK but can be any of the parks and they do it more often.

The person that mentioned they allowed them to keep riding splash mountain because of e ride nights...the reason is they were slow. I have been able to do that on a regular night, on many rides.

EMH isn't so bad.

We found that if we got our wristbands as early as you could inside the park we could capitalize on the transition time when the park closes. People who could stay often didn't have their wristbands right away and the rides were mostly walk-on for about 20-30 minutes after they stopped letting folks on that didn't have wristbands. Then, about an hour or so later, the lines settled down and waits weren't to bad.

A lot depends on how organized everybody else isn't!

So it just happened to be slow each year we did e-night and then just happened to be busy each year we did EMH? It was less crowded at e-night because you had to pay. Yea it was just 13 bucks, but that seemed enough to keep the crowds smaller.

I miss E-Ride nights, it was interesting to see how many people were willing to pay for extra time in the MK. I was definitely one of them! :D

I do enjoy EMH, it actually gave me opportunities to ride Peter Pan's Flight (that ride is near impossible to get on during the day!) And I'm really looking forward to this upcoming trip because we get MK's evening EMH on the day we arrive, and to finish our our week we get Epcot's evening EMH on our last night! :sohappy:

Actually, there were always a limited number of tickets available for e-ride nights. I think (THINK, mind you) that the cap was as small as 5 thou. Maybe 10 but I really think it was 5. Less thab even what they sell for after hours parties.

As it now stands, the only advantage to night time EMh is getting out of the sun. Lines are often as long as daytime until the halfway point at the earliest. And if the prk ended regular hours early it is purely luck if it's not well attended you go. How many rooms do WDW resorts have total? It's over 30 thou, something like 33 I think. If half those rooms are booked, and half those rooms hold people staying late for EMH, nd rooms held 3 people on average...that's still over 24 thousand people, Now imagine a peak attendance night. Yeesh.

We always did e-ride nights, and they were awesome. One time we rode Splash 6 times without getting out of the log in between each time, did Space Mountain 7 times, Thunder Moutain 4 times without getting off the ride in-between each time. I too heard that they sold 5000 tickets for e-rides. I have done EMH now as well, and there are a lot more people at EMH than were at E-rides. IT's almost just like being in the park during the day. Only bad thing about e-rides, was that is was limited to MK, but I prefer e-rides. Sometimes we did e-rides two or three times during our stay.

I would say the last two years of E-ride nights got crowded, but prior to that, and we were always there in AUgust, it was not crowded. At MK if the hours have been extended to midnight and THEN they add EMH so the park is open till 3 am., then, NOT so crowded...lol

E-ride nights were amazing. I remember when they first started - only $10. The dates were a surprise until a month or two before, and they were usually random. You could ride Splash forever, then run over to Space, then back to Big Thunder. You'd try your hardest to stay awake to make it to the end. And you would feel so special walking around for a few hours with the special wristband that everyone would ask you about.

Ah, the good ol' days... :)

I dont think we will see e-night back, or something like it, for a while. I think Disney kind of sold out on this one. I know EMH is free and that might seem better but think about the extra money from food/snacks, souvenirs... that they make with double or tripple the people in the park. It makes good sence from a buisness standpoint and thats why I dont see it coming back.
