DVC - yea or nay??

Our vote is a definite YEA!

We joined in late 1999 and DVC has afforded us years of wonderful family vacations that we probably would not have taken if we had to come up with the $$ each year.
General life expenses would have kept us from our summer trips to WDW.

Here's something else for you to consider: This year, for the first time, we booked a separate room for our daughters. What would that have cost if we paid out of pocket? I don't want to think about it.
Everybody had plenty of room, privacy, and space. We were able to bring my younger daughter's best friend who had never seen WDW. It cost us nothing extra to have her in the girls' studio.

To me, DVC is a win, win, win situation. Provided that you have the money to put down and not finance over a long period of time, I think you'll be very happy with the decision to join.

I have to say yes.... being new a very new DVC member I did a lot of research and found DVC to be one of the best time shares avaliable. The felexability is what sold us.

It's not for everyone, you need to be able to plan your vacations well in advance if you want something particular.

Depending how many points you get you can have it pay for it self in 5-7 vacations.

To DVC or no to DVC...

Hello...
1st post here. Live in CA, and just spent 1 night last week at Grand California. Have stayed there before. Saw that they are adding on villas for DVC.

I have 2 kids (3 and 1 yrs old). Wife and I are in initial discussion if we want to join or not. have a few ?'s.

What happens after the deed expires in 2045? Do you lose your investment? Any info will be helpful.

Also, never been to WDW, but want to. should this be a factor in our decision?

The older DVC resorts expire in 2042, SSR in 2054 and AKV in 2057. It is expected that the Villas at the Grand Californian and the new DVC resort at the Contemporary resort will expire in 2060.

In the case of OKW, DVC offered owners the option of purchasing a contract extension out to 2057. They may do that with the other resorts, or may not.

Otherwise, at the end of the contract, you have nothing. You paid for those up to 50 years of usage and your rights are over.

Just wanted to let everyone know that today, I spoke with DVC and we purchased at AKL!!! Since I was armed with all of the great info. I received from everyone, and along with some great incentives they are offering now, it made things so much easier. Thanks again!! Can't wait for the first time we drive through the gates and the guard says "welcom home!"
