I am renting points and havenever stay DVC before. We are only doing 3 nts. Am I right that mousekeeping will not come in and clean the room, it would require a longer stay?? If so do I tip since I will never see them but they would have gotten the room ready before we got there? Thanks

Yes, I'm pretty sure mousekeeping comes in every 4 nights to switch the sheets/make beds. Otherwise they may pop in to bring you fresh towels. I feel like I always see them more than this every 4 night time.
There will be a card out somewhere with your mousekeepers name on it. I would definitely leave something, but base it on how much they seem to have popped in. You can also always put your do not disturb sign on the door.

Trash & towel would be on the fourth day, full cleaning is on day 8. Since you're checking out on the fourth day, you won't see Mousekeeping. We usually leave a tip, though.

Housekeeping is not considered a tipped position at Disney hotels so it isn't expected in the same manner as tipping waitstaff at a restaurant, bell services or valet. That said, many people do choose to tip.

At a DVC resort, I consider the tip as being a sort of compensation for cleaning up the room after you leave. After all, it's the CM who cleans the room that will get the money. Could be the same person who serviced it before arrival but there's no way of knowing.

I have never read any general concensus on an appropriate amount for the tip. Follow your conscience.

Beds are only serviced on full cleaning days, which requires a stay of 8 days or more. On the 4th day of a shorter stay they perform "trash & towel" service, which is simply emptying trash cans and delivering clean towels. They typically leave new toiletries, too.

When staying at a DVC resort on points, the housekeeping schedule occurs every four days, not nights. Begin counting on your arrival day. Then on day four, your first service is due-- days 4, 8, 12, etc. The type of cleaning service offered on those days depends on the length of your stay.

You probably want to tip more on a full cleaning day, which would also include your day of departure, than on towel & trash day.
