DVC room location ?

Are all DVC rooms located a good distance away from the bus stops at the resorts? I'm trying to plan a trip for a picky family member, and that is the one thing that is a big issue for them. Having a hike to the bus stop at the resort. The only DVC I have ever stayed at is the Beach Club Villas, and I know we had a bit of a walk to the resort bus stop there. Is there any way to guarantee a villa near a bus stop? Or would it be better to just get 2 rooms at a resort that has multiple bus stops?

There are two DVC villas that come to mind: OKW & SS. Much like the moderate resorts, there are a number of bus stops located throughout these properties. You can request a certain building close to a bus stop, but as with all "requests," not all are guaranteed.

As for WLV, BCV, BWV, and BLT: bus stops are located outside of their "sister" resort. AK-KV & AK-JH each have their own bus stops, but share busses. Park busses go to AK-KV first and then heads over to AK-JH; while, the DTD bus goes to AK-JH first and then over to AK-KV.

The only issue I have staying at resorts with multiple bus stops, is frankly, the amount of stops. This means the resort is "that" big, requiring numerous stops to accommodate the amount of guests staying there. I have stayed at SS, and we requested a building near the H.H.. We hated the size of the resort and having to waste time "riding the loop." But, too each their own.

My last suggestion, pull up a resort map and note the locations of the bus stops, and then do a bit of research to find out, "which way the busses travel on that loop," to help aide in your decision of "what building to pick."

Good luck!

i know that when i stayed at saratoga springs the first stop was in the grandstand area. first to get on, first to depart... so, we had to make the extra stops in the resort loop in the morning. however, what made that easier on us is that we are early risers and had breakfast adr's before rope drops at the parks. busses weren't crowded at all in the mornings. not many people at the stops, so the busses didn't hang around as long.

actually bus stops at BC are closer to BCV than to the rooms at BC

Exactly, the BC/YC bus stops are just far away from all rooms.

VWL are closer to the bus stop than most rooms in the main hotel, however they are also farther from the boat docks than most regular rooms

AKL - Jambo the rooms are on the top floor of Jambo, so barring the fact that your elevator has to travel a few extra floors, you have the exact same walk as the other rooms

Bay Lake Tower you have to walk over the connecting bridge to get to the Contemporary's transit systems (bus, boat, monorail)

Boardwalk is pretty much the same as the regular rooms.

SSR, OKW, AKL Kidani are all DVC only, so there is no comparing them to "regular" rooms

I'd say the potentially best bus situation is AKV. One stop at Kidani Village and one stop at Jambo House. The catch is getting a room close to the bus stops. There are some that are very close, making it very convenient. But then most of the rooms are a long hike away.

Having stayed at GF, BW and WL, I have found that everything depends on room location.
All three of these my have you walking extended distances to the bus stops and if you are lucky, as my family has been several times - almost on top of the bus stops. It is all a matter of luck. Fortunately my family does not mind the long walks and we take the time to search out 'short cuts' if any are available.
