DVC rental: room key with credit cards

I know when you rent through DVC, you can still attach your room key to your credit card…so long as you give your credit card info to the front desk.

Do you know if you can attach separate room keys to separate credit cards? We have combined parties to stay in a 2BR and would like to be able to charge freely to our respective credit cards via room keys.

Thanks.

Yes you can. We did this in August. My keys were attached to my cc and my brothers keys were attached with his cc. We were in a 2 bedroom at BLT.

Good to know. I don't know if you know the answer, but can you do the same with the dining plan. We are going next year with another family and we are thinking of doing the dining plan. There would be 2 families with 2 adults and 2 kids each. I was wondering if all 8 of us got the dining plan could we split into the 2 separate 4 person dining plans. This is mostly to help keep track of snacks used and maybe CS meals. We would probably do TS dinner together most nights.

Sorry Goof, I only have done ddp b4 DVC. Not sure how it works for dvc'ers. Hopefully someone can answer that one for you. Btw we did do TIWL and it worked out great for us. Do the math and compare the two and check the menu at the restaraunts you will eat at and what you may order. You may find the savings with the TIWL card to work out better seeing you will all be eating ts together. Plus you get the 20% off alcohol too!

Regarding the DDP: if even one person on the reservation list wants to participate in the DDP, everyone must participate. The reason behind this is because anyone in the group can swipe their room card to "pay" for a meal (and children must order off the kids menu). A TOTAL of what's left for that particular service will appear at the top of the receipt (that's why it's important to hold onto the days' receipts and mark the persons name on it, because you will need to keep track of "who used what credits."). As for breaking the plan down per person, Disney does not do this; instead, they have a running TOTAL. It will be your responsibility to keep a personal total.

As per the recommendation for the TIW card, I received very good advice: if you're planning on spending at least $500 on meals, then the TIW will be worth its weight in gold.

Thanks. I would definitely go with TIWL if it was just my family, but the other people we are traveling with want to do the DDP. I still may try to convince them. Besides the extra cost I think it may be hard to keep track of who used what credits if all 8 of us are on the same account.

Thanks for the info.
I guess it doesn't matter if it's a dedicated 2BR or lock-off?
Which brings me to the next question: do all room keys work for both doors of a lock-off?
