DVC Park Tickets + 1-day tickets

Hi All! Quick, but somewhat complicated question:

If I purchase the 4-day NON PH ticket that's being majorly discounted via DVC (not the greatest of DVC perks, but a perk none-the-less), can I ALSO purchase a 1-day EP ticket and use them in tandem?

Back story, my in-laws are thinking about joining us (again) for our trip in Nov. 2014. To save them some $$, I was thinking of purchasing them the 4-day NON PH tickets, MVMCP tickets (because they love the holiday atmosphere during this event) and a 1-day park ticket.

If the tickets CAN be used in tandem (i.e. visit MK in the evening using a day from the 4-day NON PH ticket, but purchase a ticket for HS in the morning), could or should I purchase that 1-day ticket prior to arriving in WDW, or pick them up at the gate at whichever park they want to visit?

Thanks for any and all insight!

You can do that, but adding park hopping is often less than a one day ticket.
Thanks!

It still comes out cheaper to buy the 4-day + 1-day + MVMCP tickets.

DVC has some strict regulations on the 4-day ticket promo:
1. Can only visit each park once.
2. Only one park per day.
3. Cannot add PH or more days.
4. Can apply toward an AP.
5. First use must be by May 15th (or 10th…can't remember).
6. Expires 14 days from first use, like other MYW tickets.

The way our touring plan is set up, the in-laws don't need to PH…but, that's their call.

Final question: can I add a PH option to a 1-day ticket?

Yes you can add PH option to any ticket even if it's just one day. :)

I did the math, and although it worked out in my in-law's favor, they want to spend a bit extra and go with a 3-day PH with the option of adding on a day while we're down there. Because of where we are staying (BCV), they would like the option to wander in and out of EP at their leisure…

Thanks for the help and all of it has been stored in the memory bank!!
