Can anyone tell me how Boardwalk 1 bedroom villas are and any suggestions? I have a vacation in a little over a week, and I'm just wondering if anyone has any opinions?

Thank you. It didn't look run down. I heard complaints that it was really run down. Did you enjoy it?

Haven't stayed there yet. Staying for first time in July. I did visit it in February when I was there. Looked beautiful to me. Not run down at all.

The rooms definitely aren't run down, but they're among my least favorite of the DVC properties.

Now, the Boardwalk resort itself more than makes up for it. Absolutely one of the best resorts on the property.

I did not care much for our studio but as Nick said the Boardwalk itself made up for it, also we had an awesome Boardwalk view. We stayed in a one bedroom also and it was beautiful. The layout was great, the bed was comfortable and everything was clean when we checked in. The kitchen was a great size and the bathroom and bedroom were big. How many are you traveling with?

I'm staying in a one bedroom and there are only 3 of us, my husband and 10 year old son. I don't want perfect... just clean and not dingy. Thanks!

It's funny you should say that... I didn't like AKL... I thought it was dark and dismal. (I also had stuff under the bed that grossed me out... empty bottles, trash, god knows what else... but that was 4 years ago... I haven't gone back there)

The rooms themselves lack the pizazz of some of the other DVC properties like DAK Lodge. They're not in any way dingy, though. But their location more than makes up for it.

I think that's the case with Beach Club, Saratoga and Old Key west as well. Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom are the exceptions to the rule.

I LOVED the decor of Beach club. I thought it was beautiful. Funny... the two you mention I didn't like as much. BUT, I live in a log cabin house... maybe it's too close to home?

I thought the studio we stayed in at BWV was a little run down and not that nice. That said, the location is fantastic and I can't wait to stay on the boardwalk again.

I actually like Beach Club, believe it or not. It has the elegance of Yacht Club without the pretentioussness that resort has. I agree about Old Key West, though. And my feelings about SSR are well-documented on these boards.

To each his own I guess, because I like Old Key West.

I guess everyone is going to have things they like and things they don't about somewhere. It's funny to read at times. I loved Beach Club (hated the service) while others complain that it's worn down and needs updating... but, the staff was great. I find it's like we are commenting on two different places. You are right... to each his own.

Boardwalk villa rooms were refurbished last year if I recall correctly. The color scheme of the rooms is not to my liking but we love the resort itself and altenate years between our home resort at boardwalk and our home resort at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

I've never stayed there... I'm going to stay at Vero Beach this week prior to Disney World. I'm going to "relax" prior to the parks.

Are you staying on cash or points? If on points, did you get it at 7 months and a Boardwalk View? We are hoping to get a 2 bedroom next June Boardwalk view and are a bit concerned about availability at 7 months. Thanks.
