Ok I now it is a personal question, But we are looking into buying. What is the average price that you spend yearly on your fees. Now keep in mind that we are probably only buying 160points for starters. Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

This thread will be moved to the DVC section I expect.

To answer your question, I believe that all of the WDW DVC resorts are between $4-$5 per point currently. I believe Vero Beach is a little aobve $5.

Personally, at AKL, if I owned 160 points, I would be paying around $700 per year for 2008.

Maintenance fees can vary from year to year (generally not by too much though). Your yearly bill is broken down by maintenance costs and property tax. I just paid my yearly dues and they came up to $945 for 200 points (at the Beach Club Villas). Hope this helps. I know you didn't ask but we are very happy with becoming members. We just paid our yearly dues and for 180 pts at wild lodge villas they were $861.83 which is about $15 more than last year. Also happy we bought into it. Just regret not being to buy more points as we're always burrowing points from next year. Hope it helps.

Annual dues cover operating expenses (housekeeping, transportation, maintenance, utilities, Front Desk services), administrative expenses (Member Services, member mailings, insurance), refurbishment expenses (updating and maintaining the interior, exterior, and common areas), and real estate taxes (property taxes).

The amount you pay in annual dues is determined by your home resort(s) and the size of your ownership interest(s). Payment may be made in either one lump sum or in monthly installments.

Annual dues cannot be increased by more than 15% from the proceeding year without the approval of a majority of owners.

2008 Dues (per Point):

AKV = $4.71
SSR = $4.21
BCV = $4.80
BWV = $5.04
VWL = $4.87
OKW = $4.56
HHI = $5.16
VB = $6.04

153 pts at BCV's. We pay around 720.00. We have it automatically drafted out every month on the 15th for 60.18 from our checking account

This year for dues at SSR I pay $55.44 per month for 160 points, it is automatically deducted from my checking account. :king:

I might set that up. I paid one lump some this year (my first year owning), but I like not thinking about things.

Yea, it is a great way to do it and they don't hit you with any fees like my car insurance charges me $3 a month on the payment plan lol. Last year, my first year I did the lump sum thing and paid it with my Disney visa to get the reward points which I'm using this April. But the monthly deal is much easier to digest this year the way the economy is these days. Just call up member services and ask for the accounting department and tell them what you want to do. They will send you a form to fill out and attach a canceled check to it and send it back. Pretty easy, just remember to book the charge in your checkbook each month on the day you choose to have it deducted. I chose the 15th every month so it is in the middle of mortgage payments etc and I don't pile up a ton of bills for the end/beginning of the month. Good luck!:wave:

The greatest value lies in using your points at a DVC resort. If you don't plan on regular visits to WDW, then DVC is not for you.

We purchased in 2004 with the idea of using our points every 2 years (with borrowing and banking) for large vacations. In October 2005, we had a 1BR villa for 10 nights. This October, we will be staying in a 2BR villa for 12 nights. My sister and her fiance will be joining us this time.

We have thought about trading out into other timeshares, but the reality is that it doesn't always work out the way you want it. DVC works best for those wanting to visit WDW. Once you start looking to go somewhere else, then DVC works like any other timeshare. It'll be more costly and less predictable.
