Duffy merchandise proves to be extremely popular - purchase limits coming into effect

I'm in the vast minority here but I like Duffy. My daughter has one bear and three or four outfits. What annoys me in the article about new Duffy items is that they are continuing the trend of new products being "pre-dressed" bears. I would be happy to get several of these as separate outfits... I do not want another bear and forcing me to buy a pre-dressed bear will not work.

I also don't understand why Shellie May is not introduced here. Having her available would open up the world of princess outfits (Disney princess outfits are already available at Build-a-Bear.)

Speaking of Build-a-Bear, their clothes do fit Duffy, but I prefer the Disney clothes. Duffy as a teddy bear is just higher quality and cuddlier than the Build-a-Bear animals.

I seriously can not picture people hauling huge quantities of Duffys out of the parks. Do they bring garbage bags or a wagon? I mean really EPCOT is a big park and you wouldn't catch my butt hauling a big old pile of bears out of there. That is weird. I do see this thing happen at the local county fairs when some of the higher class locals bring their garbage bags to collect all of the high quality stuffed animals they can win at the carnival games. You ever wonder how much it really cost to get that "prize?" The internet I could see maybe but can't they just log off and order again? Ok, I just bought 5 let me log off and buy 5 more? Or let me create a fake email and order another 5. Anyone who really wanted to buy large quantities is going to find a way around this so why even bother.

It keeps honest people honest. The same reason we put locks on doors!

Note to Duffy internet resellers: Go to a Disney outlet store.
I was in one earlier today and there was no shortage of Duffy, no purchase limits and reduced prices.

Yeah, Cast Connection has a wall of Duffy bears and a few racks of clothes.

For those of you who don't know, Cast Connection is a cast-only store where Disney sells overstocked items from the parks. Anything that doesn't sell well gets shipped to Cast Connection and heavily discounted.

There's a wall of Duffy bears. You can probably read between the lines.

Edit: FWIW, I like the little guy.

Here's a new theory, maybe when Disney says that Duffy is popular and a big seller, he actually is, and you guys are wrong? Some how I think if it was the Orange Bird, no one would develop strange theories to explain his success.

see below

Yeah, I'm going with Disney blogs over the doom and gloom contrarians. Duffy is here to stay. Maybe you should form a 40 40 year-old man protest against the teddy bear to make the "TDO" aware of your disapproval. :ROFLOL:

Here is a novel idea, pull the merchandise from every single resorts and park store and make it exclusive to Epcot like it was intended.

Please remember that Duffy was originally, The Disney Bear. He was created for the DTD's Once Upon a Toy store, not for Epcot. Granted, they brought him back as Duffy and the meet and greet is at Epcot, but he is not exclusively an Epcot property.

I purchased my first The Disney Bear, on clearance, at the Poly in 2007.
