due to popular demand

This is precisely the reason attractions like Timekeeper are the ones slated for closing, removal or replacement.

If people would visit these attractions on each visit, instead of only complaining about it once they closed, maybe they would stay open.

Or it could be that people don't like to stand for a show.

I was at the MK several days during my last trip and I only did COP and Timekeeper once because they are repetitive and once you've done it, they really don't change. Timekeeper at least has the option of more views than what you've usually seen, but I've gone to nine shows and watched each screen.

Of course there would be complaints about almost any ride closing, if the attraction was quickly replaced, there wouldn't be as big an outcry about it closing.

On New Year's Eve, Timekeeper, Carousel of Progress, and Country Bears stayed open until midnight!!! (They were scheduled to close at 10pm)

Hey!

Really?? Do you know why they stayed open so late? How long did the park stay open till?

The park was open until 1 am.

They stayed open because it was pouring down rain. Orlando had 4 inches from about 7 pm until morning.

People were running for covered shelter to get out of the rain until midnight. These attractions filled the need well.

I've heard some people say the same thing. Maybe this factor HELPED, but I seriously don't buy this was the sole reason.

I can sit through either of the attractions the whole day - - they're so fun...and there's ALWAYS something new to catch! :D Both COP and TK were PACKED on our trip to the Magic Kingdom (it was actually sunny...but cool...) and the CoP seemed in very good condition! Even Patricia was given a new hairstyle in the finale!! :D :D

Also contributing were massive crowds that wanted to experience both, basically overwelming what Disney was expecting.

COP was full, people were having to wait in line for the next theatre. The line for Timekeeper was extending almost to the door when I passed by late in the day on the 29th.

Same here. Especially considering that most people were standing IN THE RAIN when waiting for CoP.
