No, they only started that transportation (after 4pm) a couple years before covid. Before that, there had never been transportation between DS and any of the theme parks. They don't want people parking for free at DS and going to a park.

Guess that's what happens when you've only been to Disney twice in like 15 years. Both trips must have been during the time they were running those buses.

Lol it truly can become a whole new world in just a few years. During my visit in 2014 there was Magical Express, FP+ including selecting 3 rides per day and MK was open until midnight without the need of staying in a deluxe resort or purchasing After Hours Event tickets. While I still very much enjoyed my last visit in 2022, I kind of missed those things. Then again, in 2014 there was no Galaxies Edge, Pandora, MMRR etc and ultimately new attractions and lands are the main draw for me.

For my next visit I'm considering to stay at the Drury Plaza hotel nearby Disney Springs. It seems affordable and I like that it comes with 'free' breakfast. I'd love to hear from you if you have stayed here and what your experience was like, especially with regards to getting to and from the parks. Also in terms of noisiness, what should I expect? The hotel opened in October 2022 I believe so that gives some comfort, but better to ask someone who actually spent a few nights there.

I don't mind that it's not themed. I normally stay at one of the moderate Disney hotels but everything has become so expensive that I need to cut within my budget. If transportation to and from the parks is sub par, I wouldn't mind throwing in the extra bucks for Uber or Lyft.

Thanks in advance!
I just stayed 5 nights and had a great experience. Quiet rooms, great free breakfast & dinner & 3 free drinks. Busses were great, on time with schedule and I never mad a reservation. It was an easy 10min walk to Disney springs. Nice pool with view of lake. Rooms with balconies over looking fireworks at epcot & magic. Early entry and can book all dinning 60 days out. Bar stays open until 12am and hot tub until 11pm which is bonus because Disney hotels close so early. Nice new and clean hotel.

I personally wouldn’t t stay at a DS resort u less I had a rental car. My main reaso. For this are the transportation options. Usually there is are limited bus times and you have to reserve them. But I also swore a few years ago that if we went we would only stay onsite due to a really bad experience staying outside of the “bubble”.

I just got back the bus service was great. The buses were on time, the schedule was clearing posted and printed for you. And the drivers were very nice. At the busy times they were 30 mins apart. No issues at all. And the hotel was very nice, quiet, and clean. It had a lot of perks as well...free nice breakfast, free dinner, 3 free drinks per adult, early entry, 60 day advanced dinning booking, no resort fees, hot tub and bar were open late after I got back from parks. Plus you can use credit card points to book so I didn't have to pay anything out of pocket. Highly recommend.

My visit in October lasted 10 days so it was primarily a financial driven decission to stay at a DS hotel. I had a great time and made use of the free breakfast and some free drinks. It didn't make sense to go back for free dinner, because it would take a lot of time away from the parks and after 6pm the hotel ended their shuttle service, meaning you had to get a ride share or alternative transportation to the parks. We had quite a few mistakes made by the hotel, some of them preventable and some not, like two fire emergencies during the night prior to my birthday, resulting in no sleep before my birthday and this canceling some of the activities that we had planned. We were just too exhausted. However the hotel resolved this very customer friendly; they compensated me for the night.

I would stay here again, but not for 10 days. The walking distance from DS is about 15 minutes which is not so bad in the morning, but man it took a lot of effort at night lol.
