Dropping off at the Contemporary and Rope Drops?

Hi, in late April I'll be visiting WDW. I'll be getting dropped off at the parks each day. I know that there are drop off locations at each park however I was wondering if it would be better to be dropped off at the Contemporary Resort and walking to the Magic Kingdom instead of going to the Magic Kingdom parking lot and getting the monorail/ferry. Is this even allowed? I've got the feeling it's something that's frowned upon. Would it even be quicker?

My other question is about rope drop. I was planning to get to each park 10/15 minutes before the official opening but I have seen that some parks actually open 15 minutes early and some people online advise getting there 45/60 minutes early. What is a good time to get to the parks for rope drop in your opinion?

Thanks for your help :)

I don't think it should be a problem is someone is dropping you off at the Contemporary, just tell the guard at the gate you are being dropped off and your driver can loop around and leave the parking lot.

Can't help you with rope drop question

9AM Rope Drop is usually around 8:45ish, though I've seen it la little early or later than that. I'd give is a solid 30 mins to be standing out front in time.

For rope drop, we are always at the park ~45 minutes before. There are things to see and do. You are ahead of the crowds. You can get on the big attractions 1-2 times each before lines get too long. This lets you spend time at the smaller attractions with less crowds.
