We have reservations for 1900 park fare for dinner on the day we arrive at WDW (driving down not flying). My daughter has a salon appointment at Ivy Trelis for a Princess makeover before meeting Cinderella at dinner. Because our room may not be ready (AofA) by 4pm, and because we have a secret dress we need to smuggle into the Salon (so it appears that her fair godmother got it for her) we need to drive to the GF and park there. I was told by some that no we would have to take the bus and deal with a 30min commute (and no way to hide the dress) and others have said that we could drive over since we have reservations. Just want to clarify with you all as we leave in 27days :)

This is true... just did it last week! Drover over from French Quarter and parked in the self-parking lot at the GF. Then caught the boat over to the MK.

Should be no problem, we visited California Grill (staying off-site) just said we've got an ADR and had no trouble with parking at Contemporary. Should be the same with 1900 at GF. Take a copy of your ADR#, just in case.

Drive up to the guard booth, let them know you have reservations, then they will direct you to the self parking lot, which is off to the right after going past the booth.

I've driven to every resort and have told the guard that I'm there just to look around and only had trouble on 2 occasions one involved the Vice President was at the contemporary so it was guests/ADRs only and the other was at Fort Wilderness and I was told they had a VIP there so once again it was guests/ADRs only. I've driven to both resorts multiple other times though. My point is you can drive anywhere on property where guests are allowed, you don't need reservations.
