Hello!!!

Me, my DH, DS-15 & 2DDs- 12 & 6months, are driving to Disney this August. We have a Mercury Mountaineer and have driven it to the World twice before, but with only the 2 older kids. When we go in August this will be our littlest ones first time. I have been looking into renting a van so the older kids will be more comfortable, but I was wondering if anyone has ever rented a van, driven it down and then dropped it off at their hotel on their first day... And then did the same thing on the way home?? Hopefully the rental car company can drop the car off on our last day.

Has anyone ever done this before????
We are staying at the Dolphin and don't need to keep the van/car during our stay.
Thank you all so much for your help!! :)

One way rentals are really expensive on the order of $100-150+ per day expensive, Best bet is probably Enterprise where they will bring car to you and just keep it for duration of vacation and they will collect it when you return.

Under most 1 Way programs 2-3 days will cost the same as a weeks rental for the same vehicle.

I didn't notice that you had 2 threads about this. As I said in the other thread, a one-way rental will cost you much more than a round-trip. You'd be better off just renting it, driving it down, then keepingit at your resort and driving it back at the end of the week.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize that it was NOT such a good idea to do two threads... I didn't realize how many people look at both forums!!! Sorry!

A little tip to save some $ on your rental...no matter how you do it...

I don't know if you've ever used ebates, but I love getting cash back on things I planned on paying for anyway. Travel sites like Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity, Hotwire, etc. are all options through ebates. The cash back rates for these sites via ebates are usually in the 4-6.5% range, but recently, Orbitz went as high as 20% cash back. That % dropped back down a few weeks ago, but still, some cash back is better than none. I recently got 5% cash back for the rental car I booked through Expedia by logging into by ebates profile and launching the Expedia site via ebates.

I also agree that r/t rental will likely be cheaper.
