Driving from NJ - Rental Car question...

Hello!!!

Me, my DH, DS-15 & 2DDs- 12 & 6months, are driving to Disney this August. We have a Mercury Mountaineer and have driven it to the World twice before, but with only the 2 older kids. When we go in August this will be our littlest ones first time. I have been looking into renting a van so the older kids will be more comfortable, but I was wondering if anyone has ever rented a van, driven it down and then dropped it off at their hotel on their first day... And then did the same thing on the way home?? Hopefully the rental car company can drop the car off on our last day.

Has anyone ever done this before????
We are staying at the Dolphin and don't need to keep the van/car during our stay.
Thank you all so much for your help!! :)

Have you looked into the price of one-way rentals vs. just keeping it for the week? It's usually a lot more expensive to do a one-way rental.

Oh ok. See that's what I meant... It's almost $1000 to rent a van for as long as we need it for... Plus parking at Dolphin is not free, so that's another $150 at least

If you *do* rent and do two one-way rentals, look into Alamo and National. They have a desk right there at the Dolphin, so drop-off and pick-up would be super-simple.

But I agree that a single round-trip rental would probably be your more-economics choice, even with having to pay for parking at the hotel. Just make sure to price out all your options.
