Driving from KY via Ocala to WDW...best way into resort?

We are leaving Friday September 2nd at about 4.00 am from the N. Kentucky area and traveling down 75 South. Will be stopping in Ocala Fl for the night and then into WDW on Saturday Sep.3rd staying at the All Star Family Suites.
So here are my questions...
Should we continue on 75 to I 4?
Since is it Labor Day Weekend how bad will traffic be?
Last year we felt like we went a way we had never been before and could not find on a map, in fact I was about to call On Star to figure out where we were, when we went under the Big Welcome sign...we are both racking our brain trying to remember what resort or park signs we saw first.
So if traffic is going to be an issue is there a sneaky way to the All Stars/AK resort area?
Thanks:)

I lived in Gainesville for a while and I don't remember a ton of southbound traffic on I75 after the Friday before Labor Day rush to leave town. As for alternate routes- I'm wondering if you took hwy 441 last time you went.

we live just 1 exit north of the 3 gainesville exits off i-75 now (if you know the area, gainesville is basically the next town north of ocala on i 75)...imo i'd stick to 75 south to the turnpike to 1-4 then follow the disney signs into your resort. that's how we always go and never have a problem. from gainesville it's about 2 hours to disney and i don't see traffic being a big deal from this end but i grew up in orlando and the traffic is always a little crazy there (people who live in "real" cities insert your laugh here).

Thank you, will look up the Western Way directions, I think we have driven that way too.
You would think we are leaving next week with the way I am obsessively thinking about our vacation now...
