driving advice from the natives?

Hey all, we're heading down Thursday night from Nashville...
I've never driven there, and the directions that most map websites give me are filtering me right through downtown Orlando...
Does anyone have a better way? How about hwy 27 or 429?
I'm looking at them on Google Earth, but I can't tell if they're little dinky roads or major highways...

Any advice from the more experienced?

429 is a good bet. 27 is a ground level highway with lights, etc.

Just bring some extra cash to pay the tolls.

I think it really depends on where you are staying.
If you are staying at an Animal Kingdom or Epcot area resort, 429 to Western Way is better (faster and less congested).
If you are staying off property or near downtown Disney the Florida Turnpike to I-4 may actually be faster.

429 is a new road, not a lot of traffice, best bet, takes you right into Disney.
