Driver Responsible for the Death of an International WDW CM arrested

So glad to see that they arrested this woman. My DD is a CP CM and this is a terrible thing to have happen in their little community. Although the report does not state the victim was a CM, she was. Sad tragic news.

wow...ok...not to make light of the subject...BUT....

The way you worded the title had me thinking that there was some serial killer out there who was either killing CMs or was a CM themselves and was doing it internationally.

I freaked out for a minute.

Sorry about that, I guess it just hit home because my DD and some other CMs came upon the scene after the victim's body had been removed, but little markers were still all over the place. DD was so upset and with her being 1000 miles from home makes a momma a little anxious and angry at this woman who tried to get away with it. It is so shocking to all of the college program kids that the person left the scene. It happened near Vista Way and at an intersection that they all use.

I respectfully disagree. The moment she took off and left that young woman to die in the street, she was a killer. However, if Steve feels that the title is too opinionated, it will not offend me if he changes the wording.

Are you serious. I have to respectfully disagree with you. She panicked? How bout she hit this woman while driving with a little to much alcohol in her system. Hid her car, yes panicked, but not for the reason you state. She panicked because she hit a woman, and left her to die and then tried to cover it up by calling the police the next morning stating she "might of hit an animal".

Leaving the scene takes away ALL of the presumption of innocence in my opinion. Guilty, throw the book at this scumbag.

The CM in question is one of the nicest girls I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and I have been seriously overwhelmed by the impact she made in her area, and saddened by the hole she leaves.

I don't say this as general custom following a tragedy, I say this because it's true. The park you folks love lost one of the Cast Members who make you love it.

It's a very sad day.

For the record, I'm changing my opinion on this woman. I read up a bit more on the situation and it seems pretty clear, she's guilty. I don't like to jump to conclusions and string people up, but from what I read this morning, I can't see how this woman could have thought she hit a small animal. Then the ditching of the rental car? Yeah, it doesn't add up.

In any case, the important thing is the loss of an innocent person. May she rest in peace.

I see that you changed your opinion after reading the whole article. As mentioned, she waited until morning to fess up to hitting "something" the night before. Long enough to sober up, and to bring her alcohol level below legal limits for DUI.

My heart goes out to her parents. I live in this area and SR 535 is a "horrible" intersection during the daytime hours at night it's even more dangerous. I just hope this is one of the areas where the County is going to install "camaras". This driver turned herself in but how many don't. Red light runners are an epidemic in this area.

I agree with the OP, in my opinion the woman sobered up before calling the police. I hope she can live with the fact that she is responsible for taking the life of someone else's child.

The fact is, none of us know what happened. Let the authorities investigate and the charges will work themselves out in court.

I don't know this intersection at all, but it can be extremely difficult to drive an unfamiliar car in an unfamiliar area. Just trying to figure out where you're going or which lanes are dedicated turn lans or what have you can cause serious lapses of attention.

This is a major tragedy. One woman lost her life and another's is changed forever. Both families will never be the same. And however it happened, a true accident or poor decision making, it's likely cause is that some stupid things happened.

Be careful out there, folks.

They still should have drawn blood or done a urine test with a complete drug screen the next morning. Just because she didn't "seem" impaired doesn't mean that something may have shown up on testing. Just my opinion.

Montes said troopers think the crash may have been alcohol-related but when they made contact with Toth at the hotel, she showed no signs of impairment.

As a result, they had no probable cause to draw blood for an alcohol test.

What a tragedy. My prayers go to the victim's families -- both her "real life" family and her "Disney" family.

How can you say that!?! She had a american driving licence with an american car, driving on american roads!? its not like she has just done an international flight and was driving the wrong side of the road, the wrong side of the car or something like that. and anyway!!!!! A RED LIGHT IS A RED LIGHT!!!!!! that is not a lapse in attention, thats careless murder. and then to not stop?! It's disgusting and disgraceful. I have seen pictures of her car...she knew it wasnt an animal, she knew what she did, she still went back to her posh hotel and left a girl dying on the street thousands of miles from home. she deserves the maximum time. When you are drivng in an unfamiliar area, you should be driving a hell of a lot more carefully.
