Drinking water in Disney

As many know, faucet water in Disney can have a funny taste to it. For our upcoming trip. I ordered 4 water bottles with filters so we can keep refilling at the parks. However, my 3 yr old isn't big on water and I've been trying to find some individual drink packets that I can add to her water but I can only seem to find crystal light or things that are sweetened with aspartame etc. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks Jen

Can you make your own packets of whatever you use at home? Or buy the smallest container of what you like and bring something to measure?
My daughter is a pretty good water drinker as long as its cold and she didn't complain about Disney water, but if your kid is picky with flavors, something familiar might be best.

My kids like water ok, they prefer Milk and Juices. But when I have a bottle of water at Disney and they ask for a sip, they always give it back empty! I don't know how they drink it that fast.

I have looked everywhere and can't find packets that are not sugar free. Even the Hawaiin Punch ones have sugar substitute. I think I am going to buy some lemons, slice them up, and bring them to the park with us to add to our water bottles. My kids love "fancy" water lol.

That's what I was just going to suggest, or if you don't want to walk around with a bag of cut up lemons...You can get little packets of lemon juice. They have them with the condiments at my work, I am sure you could find them somewhere. Or get one of the those little plastic lemons filled with lemon juice from the grocery and just add a squirt to your water.

Have fun!

Gatorade powder!!!!! Only thing that you can add to water without fake sugar...that i know of
Completely forgot they made that! I was going to buy a case of gatorade to take down, but didn't want to have to lug the bottles around the park with us. Problem solved!

Just bring some camping water purifier drops (removes excess chlorine, chloramines, and nitrates)...it does smell like rotten eggs in the bottle but you drop one or two in the water bottle and you'll have clean smelling and tasting water in about 5 minutes...can get it at pretty much any outdoors store for a few bucks and is handy to have when on vacation or for emergencies in the car...

I bought a big thing of the powder today and figured out that one scoop fits perfectly into those round stack-able pill containers so I filled them all up and now I can toss them in the book-bag and refill them at the end of the day.

Amazing. Glad to hear. And you also gave me a good idea to bring the exact same thing in september. Cheers

I brought a Brita portable bottle this past year. Loved it!

It takes out the rather...unique...taste of Florida water quite well!

I have a Camelback bottle that has a filter. Takes out bad taste. Then I just pour it into his cup. Although my son is very good about drinking water.

I second those packets of crystallized lemon. they are good in a pinch. The also make lime and orange. I also saw on their website that now they have lemonade and limeade drink packets. I don't know how you fell about Stevia - that is what they are sweetened with.

Check out Trader Joe's. They have water-flavor-ers. Fast Flavor Sticks in pomegranate cherry, lemonade and tea.One packet flavors a 16.9oz bottle. They are flavored with cane syrup solids.

My son can't have artificial sugars or dyes so, these are a good choice for making water a little more exciting.

Oh {{{HUGS}}} and more {{{HUGS}}} to you! 3 in our family have an allergy to aspartame and the likes. I have never found one sweetened real sugar! Bless you!

 ***Side note, you are in the same boat as us, follow the FDA Story about putting aspartame in milk without it being included on ingredient label, it will be exempt. Oy. See this and other articles...

I'm so glad I could help you! With everyone drinking soda in the park, it is nice to be able to have a safe treat.

Arthritis runs in the family so we need to find High Fructose Corn Syrup alternatives. I made a very high-pitched excited noise when I found the drink powders. Hmm, I think I need to stock up for our next trip...

Whole Foods supermarkets say they do not stock products with fake dyes, HFCS or chemical sweetners. Trader Joe's still has a few old products but their products are mostly safe. It sounds like you are a label-reader, too. :) The chocolate milk thing worries me.

This reminds me: when the park isn't super crowded (say in october) do you have to face long lines to buy bottled water? I do prefer to use water fountains and refill a reusable water, but if the Orlando water tastes bad...

How about coffee? Do you usually face long lines just to get coffee? I know there's now that ONE Starbucks, but when you get into the parks, is it easy to find coffee without having to wait on some big line? Is all the coffee aside from the ONE Starbucks bad, or is there decent coffee about?

Wasn't this also about allowing them to put sugar in the milk and also not have to put it on the label? I have no allergies related to all this, but it makes me VERY angry. Are there so many people in this country that have destroyed their taste buds that they need sugar and the artificial alternatives in their milk? It is disturbing to me.

I've never waited in long lines for water or coffee during October or any other time of year, but it depends on where and when you are getting it. We always bring bottled water into the parks, then refill at the fountains. Coffee is available at multiple locations in most parks, but I would expect long lines at the new Starbucks in MK. There are plenty of other places to get it, and it's much better now that they got rid of Nescafe in most locations.

I'm happy to report that the water from the fountains in Epcot, and WS in particular, was actually very good on our recent trip. The water was ice cold and had no "Florida" taste. MK and the other parks, however, are a different story.

Thanks for that useful info. We'll probably buy bottled water in the parks then refill from the fountains. We'd bring our own water bottles except we're flying down and not renting a car. Honest!
