Drinking Around the World

I think I am getting myself into trouble here but... we invited all of our wedding guests to DATW on our wedding weekend. My fiance thought that not too many would be interested in going aside from our wedding party. Now it seems almost everyone wants to go and that means about 60 - 80 people! I think we can do it if we stagger groups but... suggestions?

So long as everyone is staying at Disney Resorts [and thereby aren't driving] and don't get unruly drunk, I say go for it! Lots of people have done it, but the stories that usually show up here are the bad apples:

- Able-bodied guests using ECVs so they don't have to walk while drinking themselves into a stupor.
- Drunken louts giving CMs or other guests a hard time.
- Generally obnoxious behaviour.
- Etc...

So long as your group are comparatively well-behaved drunks, you'll have fun [and may provide some unwitting entertainment for the rest of us ]

LOL thanks Monty!

But I'm worried about the sheer mass of people buying drinks at kiosks and wandering around the world. How to keep some type of order in that?

Two options:

A - Designate some [sober] group leaders with cell phones or walkie-talkies to coordinate different parties so the lines don't get ridiculously long at the various kiosks and to "police" behaviour amongst yourselves.

B - Trust that Disney is used to these sorts of activities and will keep your crowd in line while still keeping things "Disney-esque".

I never thought about that -- fun drinking and driving at disney...for what $35 bucks a day. Sounds like a blast to me. (sarcasm)

While I can't guarantee the obnoxious level of every guest, I can guarantee that I will pull the plug on any plans to rent ECVs! That is just immaturity at it's finest.

Just give yourselves plenty of time. Think of it as more of a bar crawl.....those things always took time to get through, but that isn't exactly a bad thing...

If you've not been married before, there's one thing folks don't tell you.....no matter how much you plan, you never get to spend quality time with ALL of your guests at your reception. As such, use your time during your crawl to spend some time with everyone. It sounds as though you'll have a blast!! Good luck!

kellydisney, I just noticed your Freudian slip...you accidentally spelled fiancé incorrectly, and in a way such that the mind naturally reads it as "finance"...

Mistake?... I think not!
Sorry, couldn't resist the joke. If you can believe it, I'm NOT my girlfriend's fiancé yet, but I AM her "finance" (or "financier", if you will) for our Disney trips.

Aw shucks, well she deserves it, I guess!

Good luck and have fun...have someone slug down a Stella for me!
