Well here in Texas its a little different...the legal drinking age is 21, but a person under the age of 21 is allowed to drink if accompanied by thier parents or spouse (so if an 18 year old is married to a 21 year old, they are allowed to have a drink with them). Having said that, there are very few restaurants that will actually abide by this rule, as they do not want to take responsibility for the actions of the minor after they have left the restaurant...just because they have a couple of drinks with mom and dad, doesn't mean that they are going home with mom and dad, so restaurants don't want to take the risk.

Cheers for that...Very interesting to hear how other states have different laws..

Now please correct me if Ive got this all wrong.I'am sure the drinking age ( alcohol ) is 21 in the USA ? And how strict does this law abide at Disney.? Something tells me in Canada it was brought down from 21 to 18 way back in the seventies.Anyway, like I said,if a family had a teenage DS or DD around 19 years and were, lets say, eating at Via Napoli, would they be allowed to have a glass of wine or any alcohol drink with their meal.?By the way,it doesn't concern my family,my DS is only 15,I have friends who are going in July this year, they have a 18 year old with them.
Hatter, you must be running out of things to post about lol :). You KNOW Disney is going to be more strict than anywhere!

I'm not gonna lie, I'm under the age of 21 but my friends have bought drinks for me many times at Disney and they never asked anything. Granted I was never in plain sight while they bought the drinks, but I guess it depends on the CM?
Please dont take this wrong and I know this is going to come out wrong, so I apologize in advance... but this is exactly why Disney is so strict on selling alcoholic beverages. If you would have gotten caught, you would either been asked to leave, OR arrested... No disrespect, but why chance it?? Glad you're turning 21 soon :)

Arrested? Asked to leave? If she was intoxicated maybe she would be asked to leave but otherwise no way
