Hi Guys I am travelling to stay at Saratoga springs in August. Apart from the disney flowers and gifts web site ( which is costly) is there another way to Jazz up our room disney style without it costing the earth and supprising my kids

You can always decorate the room before the kids get into it. Say you need to check the room first and have the kids check out the pool, then just bring some supplies with you and decorate.

I do it all the time. I buy all my disney decor locally, make sure I take tape and I plan exactly how I want to do it, I pack it so I can easily and quickly get to them and I always surprise my daughter.

I am going to do this... Before we go, I'm going to order customized mouse ears from TheDisneyStore.com for my girls, as well as a shirt for each of them and maybe a doll or stuffed toy, with a card "from Mickey and Minnie". I'm going to pack them in our suitcase and make up some excuse to stay behind in the room before we go to swim or eat or whatever we do when we first get there. Then, when we get back to the room, we'll tell the girls that Mickey and Minnie came by and left each of them a present while we were out. :)

These are seriously great ideas! We always give the kids presents the morning we leave that Mickey "sends" to our house for them. That way they have something on the plane to play with. But we might just have to also decorate the room as you have suggested.

My sister did this for my daughter and nephew our last trip. She used some scrapbook supplies to make paper foot prints and notes from Mickey and Minnie. We got disney beach towels to use at the pool and a new Minnie and Mickey plush for each of them, It was very cute and the kids were surprised. When my sister asked my nephew what he thought of the surprise he said Mickey must have a key cause he owns the place, it was so cute.

When you check in at the front desk, you can also request that someone set up your room while you got to the park or DTD. We did this last year, gave them a carry on bag with shirts and stuffed animals, and they set the room up for us, they even included a special picture signed by Minnie and Mickey personalized for the kids. I bet you could arrange this by calling ahead, but we did it the day of arrival. We also go in december, so we bring our own lights and decorate our windows.

We went in december too, and decorated the window and mirror with window clings. First they are inexpensive 2nd they fit perfectly in any suitcase. I made tshirts with Disney characters. My whole family was surprised and it made coming back to the room special. I loved waking up to our window, and seeing our decorations. I know that others brought their own trees because they had it lit up in their window.

I think anything you do, will be great!
