Dress code for dinner

I haven't been on a Disney cruise since 2007.

For dinner, with the exception of formal night, I wore my usual vacation outfit, shorts, t shirt and sandals.

Is it true they've gotten strict with the dress code at dinner? My MIL is under the impression they won't even let you in if you're not wearing a polo.

I go on the dream next week, thanks!

Not in my experience - we went last year and someone at our table wore pajamas to dinner.

I think the only restaurants that are strict about it are Palo and Remy.

No, it's the opposite - they have relaxed their allready lax standards.

Pretty much, as long as you are not 100% naked, it's all good now.

Gotcha. The reason I'm asking is because last year we saw this dude that only wore jeans and shirt, no jacket and yet he was allowed. I thought that had changed the dress code.

We are getting on the plane after a trip on the dream and the dress code was very lax as others have said. I wore shorts and polos a couple of (non-Remy) nights and never felt underdressed. That being said, some people do dress up for every meal and I thought that was cool although too much luggage for our week long trip. We went all out for our Remy night and dressed to the nines and felt really good walking through the halls of the ship. I know a lot of people at intimidated or don't think they will like Palo or Remy, but man it's incredibe!

I personally have seen people dressed down in both Remy and Palo. I don't think they're as strict as they used to be. Though people should be respectful; The restaurant is formal, you dress formal - it's as simple as that.

I have personal experience of the Palo manager asking someone (not me!) wether they could please change into something that is not blue jeans or shorts. Done in a very classy way. He said jeans in a different colour than blue would be fine.

I saw someone at Palo wearing blue jeans, a white button down collar short with a blue blazer and cowboy boots. They looked dressed up and management did not seem to give them a problem, so I think you can get away with jeans if they are dressy and include a jacket. I personally have always worn a suit to both Palo and Remy and will continue to do so, but that is just my preference and I feel perfectly comfortable doing that.

I believe dress code is the same, pretty much business casual...though it's not jacket required like Remy so I think anything short of a bathing suit will be OK. They want you to look nice, not like you stopped in after a pool day.

People do that at the nicest restaurants at home as well. I guess they won't/can't really refuse you but will strongly suggest that you change or wear something they have to rent and if you refuse they won't take it further. I find it to be common courtesy to dress as you are asked but some people really just don't care anymore.
