Dreamlights (TDL parade) question

I recently downloaded the entire Dreamlights parade from http://www.barrybedford.com , and have been watching it off and on since. In case you're not familiar with Dreamlights, it's an updated version of an old favorite, Main Street Electrical Parade. One thing I noticed was that there appeared to be about twice as many floats/character units as MSEP, but both parades ran about the same time length. Would anyone know how Dreamlights can carry many more floats/units that MSEP and run in the same time length, more or less?

I hate to birng this back from the dead.. but good question... My guess is how the floats are spaced out closer... and they run slightly faster being newer.... (anyone notice a IASW float... I love the fiberoptics used in this updated parade... Wish we could upgrade spectro magic to this quality....)
