I just got an email from D23 wanting member to take a survey. Two of the questions got me kind of excited. Maybe we will see a return of Pleasure Island and DreamFinder in some form after all. Here's a screen shot of the 2 questions
d23-1.jpg

Sorry for the size.
Here's a transcription of those questions:
Best Island Escape?
Pleasure Island:sohappy:
Neverland
Hawaii with Lilo and Stirch
Tom Sawyer's Island
Castaway Cay
The Island of Lost

I prefer to travel via ___
Herbie the Love-Bug
Condor-Mobile
Aladdin's Magic Carpet
The Nautilus
Surfing on Crush
Disney Cruise Ship - Either will do
The Cygnus
The Black Pearl
Monorail
Light Cycle
Doombuggy
Dream-Catching Machine:sohappy:
Matterhorn Bobsled

Maybe they will use these survey results to justify reopening at least Adventurer's Club, and adding Dreamfinder back to JII.

I can hope at least.

Hey how did you get that picture, I tried copying it and couldnt

Some of the questions did seem like they were trying to figure out what we liked to improve the parks :sohappy:

They also had a section to leave a comment. I wrote a pretty long one

If you hit the printscreen button on your keyboard, it sends an image of your open window to the clipboard, Then you just open up paint or a similiar program and go to edit and paste. Voila! you have a screen shot. Now if I was just a better judge at sizing on photobucket.:hammer:

I would get too excited based on the questions. I don't see how it would really translate to anything. And they can also mean the place in Pinocchio when speaking of Pleasure Island.

Thanks for the tip all I was doing was right clicking my mouse and clicking save as . Im not very computer savvy :hammer:

Hopefully they will listen to our commments the last survey I took was for disney blu-ray and I suggested that they should always put a regular dvd (for the kids ) and a disney file with their blu-rays and about 1 or 2 months later I was a commercial the now all disney blu-rays will come with a standard dvd. Look like enough ppl wrote that that they listened. :) :sohappy:

I'm thinking they are most certainly talking about Pinocchio's Pleasure Island, not the late, lamented WDW branch.

Sad. I never got to see Pleasure Island during its heyday, and it was dead during my last trip.

It's not far out of the realm of possibility they are talking about the real life PI. They do mention other physical destinations and theme park attractions. I will echo the sentiment that this means absolutely nothing.

to me it looks like a survey for a future newsletter to say "We ran a survey last month, and here's what our members our members said:"

In other words, this 'survey' probably carries as much weigh as the questions at the end of SSE, as far as steering company policy..

sorry to post that view point, but thats all this probably amounts to. I don't think disney publishes as much 'read between the lines' stuff as some would like to think.

and FWIW, "Dream catcher" is not the 'official' name for dream finders air ship.

In My Opinion I think they are referring to the original Pleasure Island in Pinicchio. And these will probably appear either online or in teh "Great" (Please not the sarcasim) Twenty Three Magazine as a poll of members on where they would like to go and how they want to travel... Kind of like Spaceship Earth :ROFLOL:

I think they meant real Pleasure Island because they also mentioned castaway cay.

However its probably is for the newsletter. Alot of questions were also phrased like a yearbook poll
examples who is disneys top dog , who is the meanest, best first kiss

Hey maybe they are doing a fun little yearbook of the characters, June is coming. :)

They're just trying to find out what people like for merch sales and magazine articles. Did you notice there were some VERY obscure Disney references on those questions? I just completed my survey (yes, I joined), and was surprised at the random references to Creeper and Fidget.

Gurgi is even on the D23 certificate. Could have something to do with merch to tie in with DVD re-release later this year.

I'm not getting too excited. It mostly is just keeping that little flame of hope alive. I hadn't thought about Pinocchio. It's my least favorite classic movie and I haven't seen it in years. It could be the real-life Pleasure Island because the include castaway cay and Tom Sawyer's island too:shrug:

Just took the survey. There is certainly nothing to be taken out of the references to the Dream-Catcher and Pleasure Island. There were also references to Timekeeper, X-S Tech and a few other ex-park attractions.

That said, this was easily one of the most fun surveys I've ever taken. Wit humor, nostalgia, and great reminders of so many things that are Disney. I'm glad I took it.

If anybody wants to see the questions, I "printed" my survey to a .pdf, and can send along to those who aren't 23, but are nonetheless interested.
