Downtown Disney

Hey guys

Just wondering what types of shops are there in Downtown Disney? As I'm coming over from the UK I would like to do a bit of shopping (demin is so much cheaper in the US) but I don't fancy a mall trip this year. And I wont be driving. So was wondering if there are non-disney related shops in downtown?

Also do the disney hotel shops (I'm staying in AKL) sell stuff like snacks and water? I won't be able to bring stuff like this in my suitcase!

There are quite a few shops at downtown Disney but if I can remember not loads of clothes shops unless u into Disney wear I know my resort Old key west has a little grocery store so I would say yes it probably does

All the resorts have some kind of small shop with a few things. You may want to check into have grocerys deliverd to your room. There is a large varity of store in DD but I am guess here that they will not be the kind of store your looking for. Most everything will be Disney related.

You're not going to find denim in DTD - I'm afraid that'll mean a trip to the mall.

Yes, somewhere within each of the resorts you'll find snacks and drinks on sale (but be prepared to pay top dollar)

Loads of shops at DTD but mostly Disney related, if you want clothes etc suggest you go over to the Premium Outlets, its a short cab ride from DTD.

I love DTD, love the shops, the Christmas shop is amazing, and cannot go back to the UK without taking home a few items from the World of Disney shop!

Thanks guys. I thought as much. I went to DTD last time but couldn't really remember. I probably just skip the mall (Went on a trip to the mall last time and it was a disaster!)and stay in Disney!

For drinks and snacks I would recommend a trip to the Hess service station shop, less than 5 minutes walk from DD, just across the car park. Its easily visible and theres a pedestrian crossing!

Prices are a fraction of Disney's shops, beer typically $1.59 compared to $5 or $6 at Disney, all soft drinks, wine, snacks etc very reasonable. Our 'round trip'on foot from DD took less than 20 minutes.
