Downtown Disney turning into MGM Studios?

Looking at the decor direction Disney Springs seems to be taking, I am starting to feel like they are bringing in elements from what was once MGM studios into the place. I am starting to see remnants or get the feel that I am traveling back to the early 1900s of Hollywood.

Is anybody else getting that vibe or is it just me?

But now it has broken El train tracks! ooohh ahhhhhh

And had plans to have seating but then they figured drunks could fall so they scrapped it and now we have these pointless looking things sitting in 90's theming..

Honestly I could see many of the buildings and restaurants added to DHS and the Boardwalk area.

Jock Lindsey's would be an obvious addition to Echo Lake by Indy
Maria and Enzo's (sans the Airport terminal back story) could easily fit on Sunset Boulevard and the Edison would have been a great fit as a replacement for Atlantic Dance Hall.

Possibly contemporary collaborate with art deco?
Art Deco is not a California-centric style.

The public access was cut as a means of keeping the project within budget, not a concern for liability. Elevator pits were dug and the structures are fully sprinklered.

Wow that was the proposed plan?? No wonder they look bulky and out of place.
That art comes straight from the “blueprints,” it isn’t an early concept.

I feel like I saw some concept drawings of at least one restaurant using one of the tracks as seating out front. Which again would have been sweet... But we can't have nice things.
Connections to Splitsville might have been shown in the image dump of the concept model that @Lee did when the project was announced.

The elevated train track thing makes me wish they had a PeopleMover track around Disney Springs. Would be a handy way to get from one side to the other....as well as a fun, relaxing ride while digesting, catching an overhead view of the various shops and restaurants D.S. has to offer.

It's a shame nobody had the imagination to think of that...
