After receiving an e-mail from a close friend...I can't help but think this...
This package allowed for many families to experience Disney...and give us returners the ability to upgrade a resort level...or lets just say even go....
I know there are families out there who have always wanted and dreamed of there Disney family vacation...and this was there one chance to go...
But then I think about other families...who...so to speak...abused this package....
read the e-mail to understand....

Dear Riley,
We just returned form our Disney vacation...and it was utterly horrible! As you know we went down to re-new our parents vows in the place where they first met. We were originally slated to stay in 3 adjoining rooms at Port Orleans...but instead...thought it would be nice...for the kids to stay at an All Star...and the parents to upgrade to a deluxe! They greatly enjoyed it!
I checked us into All Star Sports around 2pm...and we recieved our room in touch down...that afternoon we went to meet our parents to visit the location....
**(edited to cancel out the next two days...they were just about the vows)**
I took Mikey (4) and Steven (6) to the food court with me to eat breakfast. As I wait in line, this woman comes up to the boys and starts screaming at them!! She threw our stuff on the floor...and ranted about how table saving was not allowed at the food court! She then proceeded to yank both of the boys out of their chairs and on to the floor, but not before mocking Mikey for crying! I quickly left line to give the lady a piece of mind! The Boys started to pick our stuff up, while her two older sons laughed at them! Families at the table around us were stunned! I let the incident go, I could have easily pressed charges for assault on a minor!
So we're at the Magic Kingdom for the parade! We set our belongs out early so we could get some good spots, but honestly...our line was no longer than 7 feet and that was for all 8 of us! About 45-30 mins before the parade a family comes up behind us...and starts talking about us! The mention things like "I paid good money to get into this park, and "these" people take up the whole side walk!" and "Man, these are the families that ruin the magic!" myself and my dad are the only ones there and start to laugh, and thats when she pushes her three kids onto our bleongs, breaking the 2 shotglasses my dad had bought! One of the kids just laughed and said "sucks for you a$$ holes!" They just walked away after that!
We're then in line to see the characters! We've waited for more than an hour!! The characters were having a ball with the boys and later with the whole family! We were with Chip for less than 3 mins. when a mother, with older kids yells " Hay Lady get you kids away from him! We've been waiting for an hour! Geeze...he's just a loser in a suit!" to my mom! The boys backed away from him, as if Chip was a disease! They told mom they just wanted to leave!"

This e-mail had some good in it too...but it was mostly paragraphd like these and believe it or not...there are more paragraphs like this!

I guess my point about this thread was that...I believe families like these are abusing this privledge...and yes it is a privledge and not a right!
I undertand..that Disney welcomes everyone...but I wish parents would think before spending...as it was obvuiuos these families were not experiencing the "magic" and didn't care who's "magic" they were ruining!

OMG,I was astonished to hear about that. I have had problems with people also, but not like this. She should have in fact pressed charges for assault against a minor! I cant believe she didnt. And the family who broke the shotglasses? Cant believe that. A WDW cast memer or WDW official should have been notified about this horrific happening. It's sad you know, how rude a lot of people can be. I never liked the All Star Resorts anyways!

This seems incredible. People... we gotta go with Sticks 'n Stones, right? But she yanked them on to the floor... and she got a piece of mind? C'mon, really, what happened? How could you let this go?

Something doesn't add up here. The FTP is the least of this person's worries, in my opinion.

Can someone please explain exactly what the FTP is? I'm sort of getting a gist of it by this downer of a letter but could someone explain it, as if i'm green to it?

Ok..I was just talking to her online....
you know how if someone is in your seat..and you grab them by the arm..and pull them off...
It wasn't anything "too" serious...she didn't pick them up and throw them to the floor...it was more of a pull to their feet...
she did word that funny..as i read over it now...
none the less...and unthinkable action from an adult to a child!

FTP stands for Fairytale package

People that act like that are the ones that aren't really experiencing the magic(or not letting themselves). I mean seriously who would even think about doing some of those things? I'm really sorry for your friend because he really had an aweful experience and I hope he doesn't take that and apply that to his future vacation plans. That is really aweful what happened to them. Why didn't a cm say something or do something. I know it's not there fault don't worry. I think it's stupid how people do spend all that money to go to WDW and feel the "magic" but don't allow themselves to do so by living in their own sinical world. Leave it at the property line(as some may say).

Sorry just needed to vent a little.. all better:D !

those idiots, i mean guests, need some major pixie dust, or escorted out by security!
and I would probably go irate on someone if they yelled in front of ALL OF THOSE KIDS that is just a loser in a suit... Chip should have thrown an acorn at them... seriously, or a baseball...

That's a shame, it's almost too extreme to believe. Why do people want to be so angry when they are vacation. The thing about the 'I paid good money' really gets to me too. So what?!? Everyone at the park paid good money. When I was young, my parents could BARELY afford to take us, and we were never rude like that.

I guess it's all in how you were brought up. But I will tell you, if an adult grabbed anyone in my family like that (out of Michigan or not) they would be face down on the floor, under arrest, and on their way to jail. Assaulting a child is crossing the line, what is she, INSANE?!?!?!?

At the very VERY least, a manager should have been called, and this woman bounced from the resort.

I can't even believe what I just read in this post. It makes my blood boil. I wish I would have been there to see it, cause she would have gotten a mouthful.

Thats really terrible. Did notice more rude people there the other week. Thought it was just the heat, I know it makes me a little testy, but this takes the cake. I really would have said something.

This also seems incredible.
1) They were "talking about us." Okay, that can be Sticks 'n Stones sometimes, I'll grant you.
2) Then she/he starts to laugh. The "bleongs" are pushed onto, the shotglasses are broken, one of the kids curses, and they "just walked away after that!" Whaaa? Am I missing something about parade locations? What was the motivation for these villainous actors in this real-life drama? They walked away?

disneydudette, I hope you haven't fallen victim to the very common "anonymous" smear tactic via email. Please don't take offense at my incredulity. :hurl:

If this was a racial matter (a hate crime?), Disney should have been apprised well before posting here.

FTP Experience

Well, in reading thru these comments from everyone a couple of things come to mind.

First: I've gotten drawn into some threads here that were casting negative light on the Company for one reason or another.
(let me state that I am not employed by Disney). I prefer to look at the positive side of things with regard to Disney. Some people just weren't raised to act respectable to others. Chalk it up to trashy people out of their element.

Second: Let's start to focus a lot more energy on the positives that Disney has to offer. The fact that we even have a place like Disney World to enjoy is such a fantastic bonus. And I enjoy reading all the stories/updates about trips taken and those yet to take place.

I for one will never forget my last trip, as it was the first for my daughter. It was absolutely the best vacation of my life. And I didn't, and wouldn't have, allowed anyone or anything to spoil it.
This place was built for the young and the young at heart.

The moments shared and experienced at Disney World are memories that no one can take away. Don't let a few bad apples spoil the fun.

Just my take!!!

Re: FTP Experience

These stories shocked me too! And I mean shocked...I litterally dropped my jar when I was reading the e-mail!

As for the first incident...she (21) did call over a CM...the lady was approached...but it was obvious she wasn't going to be confronted and proceeded to mock the CM and threw a fit! The boys handled the situation rather well she said...out side of crying in terror...both walked away...with out holding the slightest bit of a grudge...kids?!
As for the situation of "pounding the woman" my friend was put on the spot...as it being herself as the only adult...she felt rather intimidated by this woman...I'm not trying to defend her for not "protecting" her brothers...but it seems to be an awkward situation!

As for the second...that one was just as shocking for me too! Her dad was more upset that the boy swore in front of a bunch of little kids sitting next to them...then the shotglasses! None the less...a terrible act...I don't even see those acts at SIX FLAGS!

And as for the character mishap...its just really said that they had to ruin something so perfect in a kids mind!

billybaruch1:
It was not a hate crime...lol...both families were white middle class according to them...
what they did say was that...there was literally no space left on the curb.....outside of the space that was being saved for the rest of thier family...they have a feeling that is why the family approached them! But i guess these days you never know?

I know there is more good in disney than bad...they have good memories from this trip too...but it only takes one or two "idiots"...to make a good memory go bad!

I'm trying to find the correlation you're trying to make though. Are you trying to say that certain travel packages that Disney provides to guests are attracting the type of people that are more likely to do these things you read in this email?

Yeah, the original email seems a little too exagerated to believe.

Seriously, If any of you with kids saw a random lady "yanking" your kids (or even touching them for that matter) out of their seats, wouldn't you do a little more than just tell this lady off?

I don't currently have kids, but I can imagine if I did my feelings would be even stronger. If I saw a lady lay a finger on my kids there would be big, BIG trouble for her.

Are we also supposed to believe that before the parade these kids came forward, sat down or stepped on their stuff, called them ________________ and then left? Please.

I, too, would also like to know what really happened in these situations.

So maybe it's like Elaine Benes saving seats for Jerry and George and Cozmo in the movie theatre. Ha!

Maybe the whole family should tour together and in that way, no seats need to be saved at the food court or at the curb. :animwink: Just a suggestion.

You might have more fun together, too. :animwink:

LOL! Exactly.

Like I said I don't have ALL the details!
Yet these stories are all TRUE! I trust my friend's family word...
I'm not defending them...I have a feeling they're holding back details on me though...as I too find some of these stories hard to believe...
As for the parade incident...that doesn't suprise me at all...a similar incident has happened to me...people pushing there kids in front...stuff getting stepped on..then walking away to avoid punishment...

My reason for this post...was to show that some families are abusing this privledge...they seem to be taking advantage of this package...people go to disney to have fun and share in memroies...not ruin others vacation...its almost like some families are just going to say they've been...or just because this is what parents do for kids...go to disney...

I understand if you guys find it hard to believe...."to each his own"
And the whole "why didn't she knock the socks of the lady!" She handled the situation in a mature matter...yes I think more could have been done...but then again I wasn't there....

I agree 100%. The people were extremely mean this trip down. I couldn't believe how many people would run into and not say excuse me. Families constantly fighting. It was horrible.

A lot of people fight on vacation and I never have understood it. Why? What is there to fight about, you are supposed to be having fun.

Just relax, take your time, and enjoy yourself. It's like a lot of people are in a race to see how much they can do. We always go back to our room for an hour or two each day, change our clothes, recharge, and head back out. To me it's just more fun to take your time and enjoy your family.

The more you whine and moan over 'you better have fun, this is costing a fortune' the less fun you are actually going to have.
