I think this fits on this forum, since this book deals with working at the Haunted Mansion. If you haven't read this book, it is worth picking up. the title is Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom, and it is by Doctrow. any disney fan will love it, and it is quite an easy and quick read. I didn't see this listed on any other forum, so I was hoping others could give their imput about how they liked the book.

Hardly an anti-Disney book, it's quite reverent. The title is 'down an out' because in the future, people actually live in the parks, and the main character is a little down on his luck. It's a light, quick, entertaining read.

it is acutally a great book. the whole idea is that people in the future can 'live forever', though all they really do is make clones (sans brains) and use technology to back up their current minds. whenever you body dies, you new clone is given your backup mind, and off you go.

also, there is a revolution in the future, where ad-hocs take over the park, because it was being run by the higher ups into the ground. these ad-hocs are just like a lot of us, whom love and want to keep the spirit of dinsey alive. they then move into the parks, and keep everything in top working condition. everything remains frozen in time, until new ad-hocs come into the park and want to renovate our beloved pirates and hall of prez.

I wont tell you the rest, but it really is a good book. oh, and it also revolves around the protection of the haunted mansion. :)

exactly the oposite of anti disney. I agree, I doubt I would read a book that is anti-disney, but I really do think you will enjoy this one.

I have never read this book yet, But I would recommend
Waking Walt.

It is on amazon, Im almost finished, so far its a fun read.
Basically Walt Disney World is in Trouble( sound familiar) and some one has an experimental cure for cancer, so it time for Walt to come back.
