Doug Live!

There's a short-lived live show at Disney MGM Studios (nowadays, it's Disney's Hollywood Studios since 2008) based on the Disney version of Doug. WHY DOES IT EXIST??!! I think a Country Bear Jamboree-like animatronic show featuring the Recess characters should be on there rather than the stupid live show we got. Thank goodness, Doug Live closed in 2001. Tell Defunctland, Yesterland, or Yesterworld Entertainment to cover on the worst Disney World live show ever.

There was a few strange shows in The Studios..

Ace Ventura LIVE

Dinosaurs LIVE

Let's not also forget the short lived attempt to make D Tracy Disney's biggest comic book character before Marvel came in.

Doug came out six years before Recess and fit in with what they were doing at MGM at the time. It was also very popular. Once Recess came out Hollywood Studios was already changing directions. I liked Recess as well.

Well, Disney brought the rights of Doug in 1996, so the Disney edition came out a year before Recess.

Yes, but kids don't care about ownership. It still came out six years before Recess. They just want their parents to take them to see the show. I think Recess was better personally. Disney should have created a Recess show but instead they stuck the stupid American Idol show in there.

I wish that an animatronic show based on Recess would exist, but didn't.

A live show would have been fun but an animatronic show is a big investment for a small property like Recess.

Little kiddos might not care about ownership, but courts and judges seem to think that it matters. We live in a land of laws, governed by statutes, contracts, and case law. I doubt that the owners would be too happy if their intellectual property was used by a third party, and they weren't getting a cut of it. What does it matter what kids think when they're on vacation? The parents aren't allowed to illegally pay their entertainment when it violates copyright law.
