Vol fans will only get the greatest respect from me. My favorite players never played for the tide. Archie, Peyton, & Eli. My dream is for Peyton to retire and coach the Vols back to championship contenders. That can only make Bama better. That can only make Vols better!
I joke, but UGA and Alabama fans also get a lot of respect from me, too. I don't mind losing to any team, as long as we give it our all. We lost to Alabama State this year, which should have been a gimmie.
But I felt great for them, because they really brought their A game that day. The Auburn loss was harder to swallow...but I openly congratulated many of their fans (who were thrilled) that day in the stadium. They knocked us down, hard, and wholly deserved the win.
If only the team could recapture this...
I think the current coach can do some good for the program. I've seen a lot of improvement with Butch, though we are still lacking a strong QB, our linesmen (D and O) need work, and our special teams (outside of our kicker, we have a GREAT kicker) need severe work...
We had a rough break with Kiffin. Dooley was out of his league, but he did well for the program. What's disturbed me is that the fan base seemed to turn on him too quickly (even though he got around 3 years)...
I remember going to a game last year (the next to last game Dooley coached) and we lost...in overtime. The fans were livid, and I remember telling my cousins and Dad (who I'd gone with) at Calhoun's BBQ after the game that I didn't think Dooley would last the season.
They disagreed, but it turns out...I was right. UTenn is on the mend, but we'll be back.

And, SEC Football aside, let your wife know her craftsmanship is fantastic! That's gonna look so good on your Stateroom door. <thumbs up!>
Oh, and it took me a minute to get the "house divided" reference! Hahaha!
