Don't You Agree?

Since the death of Walt Disney in 1966, the Walt Disney Company has made many leaps and bounds in all areas of the Corporation, but have they taken any big risks. We have not seen anything that can compare to the California or Florida projects that eventually unfolded into Disneyland and the Walt Disney World Resort and when was the last time you saw a Disney film at the multiplex that surpassed anything you have ever seen in the way Snow White must have made audiences feel like. I'll make an exception for Toy Story, but that was over a decade ago and I feel that now it is time for the geniuses at Disney to take us where they have never taken us before. Don't you agree?

I'm mixed about it. Disney has without a doubt kept up with the now in terms of technology in the new things they have developed. I think it's safe to say they have set the standard for all other amusement parks for years and will keep up the pace for years to come. So, if anything, it's more of a personal wish to see Disney take a bigger risk or development of something we've never seen before. They don't necessarily have the pressure to take the next jump quite yet. For example, I think it's Tony Baxter who has mentioned some sort of robot armed roller coaster technology that's in the works. Only the future knows what Disney has in store for us and we can only hope it will blow us away!

Actually Universal took the rights to that technology for the next decade

And Disney didn't develop it. It was created by a company called Kuka.

Well then I guess Disney is screwed for the next decade :p

But seriously, I think Disney got plenty of things up it's sleeves we don't know about, just not the Kuka robotic arms....but maybe a Disney robotic arm eh?

It would be kinda difficult to develop a giant robotic arm that isn't infringing on Kuka's patent.

I mean... there are only so many ways that you can develop a giant, rideable, robotic arm.

I don't actually...I think that the '80s '90s and even '00s were some of the biggest in Disney History

The first non Magic Kingdom park-Epcot
WDW gets 4 parks
Cruise Line
Disneyland in other nations.\

All are pretty big risks.

Good point. Still, you have to admit that even those feats aren't quite as awesome or risky as the original Disneyland project.

They created a Disney park in both Tokyo and Paris. While I will hand it to you what Walt did was incredible, but the Disney company has gone from nationwide to WORLDWIDE. I wish they would resort back to more 2d movies but that is just a personal wish and digression. I think the company has expanded and taken a great deal of risks. I do wish they would spend a bit more money on risks of even more new attractions in a few parks, but that once again is just a selfish want.

I'm not saying that those aren't big risks. I'm just saying that they aren't at the extreme of the California Project, the Florida Project or the advent of the first animated feature film. Personally, I am not out to harshly criticize or trash the company. In my opinion, they are the best corporation around. :king:

you know what? In a way i sort of agree , this is my first post XD. I feel like they should work more towards bringing back animated films again , that's what they're known for. I love Pixar ,don't get me wrong , but I love what this Company was built upon. I think it's time for them to start working on more cartoon films again. I don't know about any of you but I reallllly miss that. The whole Hanna Montana And Jonas Brothers and HSM thing really bothers the crap out of me Because I cant help but feel like thats not what Disney should be showing the newer generation of kids. They really need to bring back their whole cartoony atmosphere.

You wanna take a risk? Make a Steamboat Willie Ride ,a water coaster. A BIG water coaster that really shows the classic element of Disney , and have you know like Pete chasing Mickey on this thing. It'd just be so neat. I think a lot of people would disagree with me on this ,but I also feel like they should take out Stitch and put in something truthfully amazing that really makes us experience a new version of what the future holds. Sorry if I don't seem to know what I'm talking about , I'm one of the younger gen. Just thought i'd throw in my 2 cents.

The sad truth is that the element that Disney is missing is...Walt Disney himself. He is irreplaceable and there simply will never be another like him.
