Amazing... 81 and still not a gray hair on his head... hope I'm just as fortunate when I reach 81.

At this point, we will be in our 30's and 40's! I hope that celebration can be like Mickey's 60th back in 1988.

I'll be 50 when that happens...[/QUOTE]
At that point, I might be working at Walt Disney World and they might also make a new show in honor of his birthday. Dream Along With Mickey has gotten old over the years and the Magic Kingdom deserves a new castle show at this point.

Info on website says....Donald's birthday is officially recognized as June 9, 1934, the day his debut film was released, but in The Three Caballeros, his birthday is given as simply "Friday the 13th," while in Donald's Happy Birthday, it says his birthday is March 13th.

Here's something I found hard to believe, and even quite disappointing. :(

I read this, think it was in Walt Disney: An American Original, and I think maybe another book or website as well. Walt Disney's wife Lillian didn't like Donald at all, mainly because of his voice and short temper. She also didn't like Pinocchio either (the movie, not the character), especially the Pleasure Island scene where the boys turn into donkeys. Here's a review of Pinocchio's Village Haus (at Disneyland) from a reviewer who had a similar opinion of the movie:

On the other hand, Lilian adored Mickey, since "there was so much of Walt in him". As for animated feature films, her all-time favorite was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (the one that started them all), and Cinderella was her next favorite. She also really enjoyed Fantasia and Bambi. Not sure about later animated features, since this part of the book(s) I read this was from the time period that Cinderella was in production.

As for myself, I always liked Donald just as much as Mickey. Happy 81st Birthday Donald, and here's to another 81 great years! :) (and many more!) ;)
