I wonder if they recycled the dolphin, you know fed him to the sharks. Its the circle of life. Thats a whole lot of shark food gone to waste if they didn't.

Discovery Cove...

Hey darkimage you should look into going to discovery cove over at seaworld

Unfortunately $$$ is an issue, the tour was part of our honeymoon package and wasn't going to cost us anything extra. Plus, isn't Discovery Cove something like $200 a person?? I know it's not like we're not spending alot of cash already, but the 3 or 4 hundred dollars is out of the question.

They won't substitute something?

non dolphin swim is $119
with the 45 min. dolphin swim it is $199
plus 6% tax.

but it is so worth it.
even if you dont swim w/dolphins you can snorkel with the
stingrays!! and they have a lazy laagoon to float down, plus
a bird avairy to die for. ..
it is like being in Hawaii w/o the expense..
oh and a meal is included as well.
plus a seven day pass to sea world!!

If I remember correctly, the tour information was worded something like "tour availabilty & schedule subject to change". It's not really that big a deal since all of the other tours are included as part of the package. Plus, it's not as though you were guarenteed access to all of the tours, you only "have access" to them. So, it's not as if we paid for all of the tours and are now losing money we spent on it. We are still doing like 3 other tours while were there. Unfortunately, the "behind Animation" tour at the Studios was discontinued as well :brick: (not the 100 years tour). Oh well, we'll still have fun, it IS Disney afterall :sohappy: !

It seems worth it, but I'm not sure about another $400 expense while we're down there :hammer: . I guess I'll bring it up to my wife (she handles the money :D ).

IS that all? Ok, yes it IS a lot of money, but I was told last year that it was upwards of $350 per adult.

Does anyone know what happenned with the dolphin?

Were the post mortem results ever made public?

And I've just realised how truely stupid my last post on this thread was.

Yeah, but i was just wondering if anyone had heard anything, but hadn't shared it with us. Or if a newcomer might know, but had never seen this thread.

Anyhoo...

The "fishsticks" jokes are over the top, over the edge, and just too much. We are talking about a living creature, not only with incredible sonar and nervous system abilities, but a creature far closer in intelligence to humans than many people are aware of. These intelligent, sensitive MAMMALS, are warm blooded, have a spine, and have been known to actually rescue struggling swimmers! These MAMMALS have lungs very similar in volume and design to humans. SO LAY OFF THE FISHSTICK JOKES.

They should be mammalstick jokes.:D

Does everyone dislike dolphins? :veryconfu No one knows the details or anything, but personally I am never happy to see anything die. I just don't see the fun in joking about it. But I guess I am the minority.

Wow, I didn't know about this incident... but I just read the whole post. I'm going to do some digging online and I'll see if anything was said as to the cause of death. So if I find anything, I'll let ya know...

Nope... I couldn't find a thing, can you believe it! There was almost no mention of them online at all, let along what one of them died of.

The only thing that I found was a little tidbit of info talking about dolphins that had died (years apart) at Living Seas during the 80's. The dolphin named Bob was there at the time and a spokesperson from Disney named Kym Murphy was quoted saying that Bob may have been one of the causes of the dolphins deaths because he was a very agreesive dolphin. I can not confirm that this is true, so please don't talk it for more than its worth.
