Dog from Airport to Kennel

I am going to WDW in Aug of 2009 with my brother and his girlfriend and she wants to bring her dog, (OH goodie). Anyway, we are staying at the Pop Century Resort so I guess the best kennel would be the one at DHS. Now with that said we want to take the Magical Express (what a awesomely great service), but we are unsure what will become of the dog, does ME pick him up and bring him to the kennel, do we have to get him and bring him there? For the first time since the first time I went to WDW I am no sure how something works down there. If anyone has any insight on how this works would be greatly appreciated.

Q. Can I travel with a crated animal and use Disney's Magical Express Service?

A. Service animals are permitted to travel on the motor coach with their owner; unfortunately, no other pets are permitted to travel on the motor coach. If you wish to travel with a pet, you will need to make other transportation arrangements.

your going to have to take the dog to the kennel yourself,

by the looks of what i jsut found, your friend will be spending ALOT of her day traveling to which ever kennel you choose for walks and if she insists on brining her dog im sure she will be spending more time then that there.. I love my dog, but i wouldnt want to waste my vacation worrying about getting to the kennel to walk and such...

Cost

These costs are for the TTC, Fort Wilderness, and Epcot Kennels. The kennel prices at these three locations include 2 potty breaks per day and up to 2 feedings per day for verified, non-aggressive pets. Pets which have unverified vaccines or which are aggressive must be cared for by the owner. The kennel staff will not feed, walk or provide extra services to unverified pets (see the Requirements section below).

Dogs Cats & Small Animals
Day Rate: Non-Resort Guests $15 $10
Day Rate: Disney Resort Guests $15 $10
Overnight: Non-Resort Guests $20 $15
Overnight: Resort Guest $18 $13


The following options are offered at the above locations:

Extra Walk - $5.00
Cuddle Time - $5.00
Ice Cream Break - $4.00
Medication - $2.00 per treatment with owner supplied meds (no injections)
These costs are for the Disney Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom kennels. The prices at these two locations do not include any walks or feeding. All guests are required to walk their dog at least once in the morning and once in the evening (twice a day). Dogs less than 1 year of age must be walked three times a day.

Day Rate: Non-Resort Guests $10
Day Rate: Disney Resort Guests $10
Overnight: Non-Resort Guests $15
Overnight: Resort Guest $13

Why in the hell would your bring your pet in VACATION with you ? I must admit that I do LOVE animals. I have myself cats and a dog.

When I leave for vacation (Disney or elsewhere), I either finda family member/friend to take care of my pet or I am sure there is a place that takes care of your pet while you are away..

Why bring your pet with you during a VACATION ? I just don't get it.

Just got back from a fun Disney vacation and yes we did bring the dog! Why you ask? Because it was less expensive to board him at the Epcot kennels than at the PetsHotel that we boarded him at last year, as a DVC member about $6 a day less. Plus we had the advantage of seeing and playing with the dog everyday. Last year at the PetsHotel he was kept caged the whole time (except for potty) and wasn't allowed to socialize with the other dogs. Because of this, he stopped eating for four the seven days that he was boarded. At Epcot we could check on him just about anytime that we wanted, and made sure that he was eating.

I am so grateful to have a wonderful dog sitter for our dog. We've never crated her and the person we take her to is okay with that. She's walked extensively every day and well cared for. When we pick her up we are presented with pictures of her time there.
