Rumor Does WDW have a retail inventory problem in the parks ?

As someone who's gone frequently for the last almost 20 years, the reason that I buy less merch isn't because of availability but because from a design perspective, most of it is really boring and un-original IMO. 10-15 years ago, the clothing merch was much more unique and had better designs I think. I used to buy at least one article of clothing every trip and now, I haven't bought anything in about 5 years.

The focus has been on pumping out the next spirit jersey, ear headband, or theme printed purse in addition to the franchise bucket of plastic bath toys, princess doll & accessories, or Disney home/kitchen decor that is just not subtle or classy enough.

I agree with this completely!! They used to have some nice things... I would always buy a few nice shirts when I was at the parks...now there is nothing I would want aside from maybe the Tommy Bahama line at the POLY gift shop... The overall quality of the goods has plummeted and the designs are not great...

Have to focus on the big 4 every time: t-shirt, spirit jersey, Mickey ears, Loungefly. Anything else is low priority.
