Does anyone know if WDW takes any action if the threat level goes to Orange or (god forbid) Red??

Just curious as I will be there shortly and am a little unverved by all the talk on CNN today.

I'm not afraid of terroists attacking disney. I like to think there's a Magic bubble around all Disney Parks that prevent terrorist attacks and meteors hitting the earth

Actually, if the terror threat level goes up, they close/restrict the airspace around the parks more than usual.

Speaking of security, one of my less-conscientious High School students monitors security videos in the Magic Kingdom.

Not to sound too mean. . . but what a shock. :(

I was at WDW 4 days after 9/11 and the security was high but you didn't really notice it except at the from gates. Disney went on alert as well but they also didn't want to interfere with the guest experience.

I have a video from that week and they was vertually no one in the parks. Also the flags were at half staff. Fun week but kinda creepy since there was no one around.

Ok guys a lot of the security measures that are taken are stuff we do not see or know about.

Yeah, just like the rest of the country, unless you work in the vicinity of the DC Mall., its not as if there are national guard units staked out in front of our malls etc.

When threat levels go up, only certain things receive manned posts which are really only a slight deterrent in the first place.

In Disney's case, i would guess that whatever actual law enforcement agencies(not the keystone cops Disney hires) that are on property or monitor property go into a heightened investigative/observation mode. The off-duty staff are on 24 hour call etc etc..

But the last thing Disney, or any business really, wants to do is scare people after they've spent thousands on a "Magical" Experience. :D
