Does Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy need a overhaul?

yes it does...to regular SPACE MOUNTAIN. no more ghost/hyperspace. let space mountain be space mountain. same goes for the haunted mansion. open a NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS dark ride in CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE and leave the mansion alone.

The idea of it is solid but it needs better visuals and a music score that doesn't sound like a temp track. The exterior lighting and sounds is probably the best thing about it.

As one of Disney's Halloween "offerings", this is an extremely weak makeover as it stands. No argument from me on that.

Alien in spaceship
Evil alien virus (like zombies, but alien zombies!)
Spirit of a vengeful astronaut who died in an spaceship crash (might be too realistic for disney though)

At a minimum Ghost Galaxy needs a better soundtrack.

The regular music is memorable, dramatic, and exciting. The Ghost Galaxy music barely makes an impact.

I like this idea - given how Mystic Manor, Haunted Mansion, Hotel Hightower and TZ ToT's stories are, I think they can make your idea work in a family friendly, mysterious, adventurous and thrilling way.

But he never really bothers to get too close to you. He just hangs out in the distant space, hoping you'll happen to travel right by him, so he doesn't have to reach very far.

In a recent rewrite I did for a competition, I went with the astonaut spirit thing, and made him actually trying to help the guests, but just seeming evil. This can remove all problems the projections have as they aren't really effective in projecting closeness.

Like Natalie Imbruglia, I'm torn on the whole thing. Ghost Galaxy was bizarre and not a worthy alteration, in my opinion. Even the Mummy ride has a certain charm with its remarkably low tech embarrassingly cheesy af giant head during the roller coaster. The Space Mountain was just kinda awful. On the other hand, I don't go to DL during these holidays because they don't have HM, so it doesn't matter to me. They can go ahead and give Mr. Toad's Wild Ride a Lindsay Lohan overlay.
