Does Disney need another big thrill ride?

I do believe WDW needs some more thrill rides but before that can happen they need to look at how DIsneyland balances the thrills and kid rides. That's the problem WDW has at every park besides the MK, you have thrill rides and no ride for little kids anywhere near it. Test track and Mission Space need some family rides near them, same with ToT and RnRC. In Disneyland you have so many rides in fantasyland and winnie the pooh next to Splash mountain, in CA you have Bugsland and 2 family rides in Carsland to go with the Racer. Thrill rides are great when you have family rides to keep everyone happy.

I'd like to see another Splash Mountain caliber thrill ride. Unfortunately I don't think WDI of today has the capability to make a ride like that.

I can ride Rock N Rollercoaster at Disneyland Paris over and over (which I regularly do) and be totally fine but I always get off WDW's version with bad neck and headache, every single time. Both versions have the exact same track layout and stuff so obviously there is something off with WDW's one for this to happen.
Makes sense. Haven't rode the one in Paris so wouldn't know, but the one in Hollywood studios is older which could make a difference?

I know this is your personal opinion, but I disagree. The majority of Disneys thrill rides are thrilling but not too thrilling. What is wrong with adding a few higher thrilling rides to Disney? Especially with how Disney themes their rides. I guess what I'm trying to say, would it be a problem to add more thrill to Disney?
LOL. When I was younger, I used to think just like you. I'm a Cedar Point and Kings Island transplant, so there is no coaster or thrill ride that is too tall or too fast. I could ride coasters like all day. But now, I'm more into heavily themed attractions.

Also, Disney's crowd doesn't seem to bode well with thrill rides -- this group seems to sustain a lot of injuries. Do you remember when Mission Space first opened? It was awful. Disney literally had to dumb the ride down to nothing -- and yes, I am talking about Orange not Green.

I love thrill rides but I don't want to sacrifice theme. Also, higher thrilling rides are way too short. Rock n' Roller Coaster is only 1 minute and 22 seconds long, even 7DMT is 3 minutes long.

I hope Avatar Flight of Passage is thrilling, too.

Star Wars land has a great opportunity to build an amazing coaster! I really want a Star Wars inverted coaster with Star Wars themed music! Millennium Falcon sounds exciting but too similar to Star Tours 2. The fans deserve better, imo.

All Disney parks need to add faster roller coasters. Its a theme park , just because its Disney doesn't mean they have to as slow as its a small world ride .. i do enjoy the visual, and animatronics the rides have to offer, but 7DMT just aint fast enough.
I hope in starwars land they do something different than another star tours . It would be nice to have like a RnR type ride. Those imagineers are pretty smart , im sure they will, as i belive Walt said "up it "

Hate to go against the popular opinion but no Disney doesn't not need more thrill rides and or roller coaster. Disney is a family vacation destination not a thrill park. The ride and attraction are suppose to be family friendly. I do like thrill rides slowly getting into roller coasters but to me Disney is a place where young family can go and everyone can have fun not just the thrill seekers. Keep Disney theme parks the way they are leave the thrill park attraction to USF and IOA.

Absolutely. They only have a handful in 4 parks. There are more thrill rides in 1 park at most places. If it comes down to it fully, I would only classify RnRC as a thrill ride. Loosely defining it, you could add EE, ToT, SpMtn. There is so much WDW can do to either change or add to them. They have the background for each.

SWL: They can easily make a dueling XWing/TieFighter hyper coaster
MK: Complete revamp of Space Mountain.
AK: Avatar could add a hyper coaster
Epcot: There is a TON of wasted space that could add several thrill rides easily.

With that said, there also needs to be more family rides. MK is about the only park with enough of both. DHS and AK only have a 3-5 in each. Epcot has several and a lot of things for the smaller kids to enjoy, but their attention will be wanting to go to MK.

I agree that themed attractions are amazing. Which is why I want to see another coaster at Disney that's similar to Rockin Roller Coaster because I know Disney would do a great job with theming if they added one

Exactly. If Disney is a family attraction, why not have something for everybody at each park??

In my mind, I mix thrill with high caliber.
AK is getting a high caliber ride with Flights of Passage - so it'll have three big ones - EE, FoP, and Dinosaur.
Hollywood Studios is getting Star Wars, so we're getting at least one big one there with the Millennium Falcon ride.
One more in MK and Epcot would work well for me.

I would understand if Disney felt the need to add more thrill rides, if they felt the need to cater to that demographic. But for me, I'd much rather see more large immersive rides like Pirates or Splash or the HM. The thrill that's there currently is already beyond my comfort level. I don't do Mission: Space or Rock 'n' Roller Coaster or the Tower. So new super thrill rides just would be a waste for me.

Yes, one at each park.
I agree with this, but I think Magic Kingdom is essentially fine. I'd put at least 2 at EPCOT since this is the park that needs the most work and works the best with "thrill" rides from a theming perspective. SO much they could do at EPCOT because they aren't limited to character theming (although you could fool me as they try to theme every ride with some silly character).

I personally prefer at WDW more attractions along the line of Splash Mountain-plenty of thrills and fun but with a strong story and connection with Disney magic. Pure roller coasters are easily accessible across the country, expensive to build and maintain, and simply can not handle the per-hour traffic that would result at WDW.

I'd like another coaster like RnRC, either in HS or another park. That's what I think the max "thrill" level should be. It doesn't have to be a launch coaster, just an exhilarating/fun one. We have enough family coasters (7DM, and eventually Slinky Dog), and I feel like we should have more roller coasters along the lines of BTMRR, SM, and RnRC. As long as it isn't a bare ride (meaning that there is great theming), and it isn't super IP based, I'll be extremely happy.
