Does Disney enjoy taunting us or do they have a plan?

I don't really understand a few if the choices the WDC makes. I was on the Disney pin trading website today and they showcased a SSE pin with the blurb under it saying, "doesn't it make you want to sing Tomorrows Child." Now when I read this I view it as Disney acknowledging that song is better then the emptiness they now have. I ask, is this constant reference to the past merely a money grab at our nostalgia or some way of saying "Hey we know what you want and were trying here." I mean the constant flux of Dreamfinder, Adventurers Club, Horizons, etc. is at times astounding. My question isn't "When are they bringing back Horizon's", it's just with these little hints to the past, is Disney actively trying to make good on some of these or is it just them oblivious.

Horizons isnt coming back and neither is Wonders of Life or Dreamfinder!

^Agree to the first, probably the second (although I could see them putting up a new life scinences FW pavilion someday,) but I think that last one might not be true. I think there is about a 50-50 chance of Dreamfinder coming back in some way the next time Imagination gets redone (which will only happen with a new sponser.)

Which neither are on the horizon probably. So get use to whats there cause I dont see it going anywhere, or anything replacing Kodak.
Same with SSE, the descent is permenant as is until Siemens bows out and someone else comes in, and thats probably what 10 to 15 years?,,or the thing just falls apart which is not too far off.

I miss Mr. Toad. The only Toad merchandise I can find in the parks is the Wind in the Willows DVD. And the only thing I can count on seeing in the parks is the Mr. Toad statue in the pet cemetery of the Haunted Masion. Disney bring back a Mr. Toad attraction please!

^^^ What he said.

Disney doesn't care... They're not sending subliminal messages.

They simply know that there's a crazed group of people that will spend money on things they miss from their "Disney life". So they toss Dreamfinder on a pin, because they know there are thousands of people that will buy it probably just for that reason alone.

An educated guess on my part is that they sit around laughing at people like us that spend money on those sorts of things.

If something is not up to standards I simply don't purchase it. But to say everything they sell in the parks is sub-standard is just rank cynacism. Last I checked you are not required to make any purchases unless you want to. It's entirely a vouinteer system.

They sell Mr. Toad shirts at Magic Kingdom (I've seen two, I own one) and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is still available at Disneyland... It's only a plane ride away.

I've met and spoke with the CM in charge of pins and the official pin blog. He's a huge Epcot fan himself. I wouldn't read too much into it.

Wouldn't it amaze those sitting around that big table in the board room, if all the people would just stop buying the product that they JUST KNOW those people will buy!?:ROFLOL:

But my opinion is this, isn't there a song called Tomorrows Child referring to Epcot? I thought I heard that SSE had the song at the ending? Or I could be mistaken! Who knows!

There are people that work at Disney that are Disney fans themselves. Not everything is just 'for business' or to 'trick you into spending money'. Some CMs miss old attractions too and if they can pay homage to awesome stuff so it won't be forgotten, why not do it?

I would love to see Mr. Toad added in the United Kingdom Pavilion at Epcot! :sohappy:

The name the Imagineers aptly gave to the last room on JIYI, because all of the uproar of Figment's disappearance in the second rendition.

"You wanted Figment. So here he is. EVERYWHERE!"

and you would think it would have been priority to actually animate the figments in that room....to quote my dad after getting off the ride "well, that was mediocre"
