Does cost affect your enjoyment of your meal?

The prices are one reason we do the dining plan. That way I am over being sick about the prices BEFORE the meal and can just enjoy it without thinking about the fact that it is probably costing me a dollar (or more) per bite. ;)
Then, since it is already paid for I get whatever I want without even considering the prices other than the fact that I quite often order the most expensive items on the menu.

We, too, are fortunate to be in a place where we can (and do ) have signature meals for dinner. That being said, I do not expect value, but I DO expect quality. There are plenty of wonderful restaurants in Orlando and WDW DOES have competition- especially for higher end meals. Tiffins, so far, has been my favorite.

That's so sad to hear! The reviews sound and look amazing. Did you just not enjoy the quality and flavors of the food? This is something that I was hoping to do in the future!

The quality, execution, and service we received that were all sub-par (not just in comparison to other upscale restaurants, but sub-par for any table service restaurant). I've discussed it a couple of other places, but here's a link to the overview: https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads...a-grill-for-brunch.934560/page-2#post-8197642

Expensive meals tend to be higher quality and less quantity. Therefor, most people will complain about 'not being full' when leaving. That's not the restaurants fault, they served you a proper helping most likely. Its the fact most people eat far more than a recommended helping for *WHATEVER* reason. Also I've found people who frequent fast food places, and generally eat allot of junk, don't 'taste' food like people who control their diets.

My suggestion is always; if you want to be full, go to a buffet. If you want a real meal, go to a high(er) end restaurant. Keep in mind all those salty cheese burgers you've been pounding down, won't do your taste buds much good when you go to a nice place, and its not the fault of the establishment.

I think the preconceived notion is; go to a fancy place, have a ton of great food. Well yes, its great food, but the portions are well correct, and that is off putting to allot of folks who tend to eat more than what they need or is recommended.

I will concede that some of the nicer places at WDW have a bit to be desired lately. To the point i look at the menus before I go somewhere, to make sure there is something my taste buds will go crazy over. Unfortunately, with the decline in plates, the costs have not sunk with the quality, and I can see where this would a few people off.

I like to think of Disney dining as, you pay for the next tier, but get the tier below (compared to the real world). So .. a spendy place at disney, probably isn't as good as a spendy place outside of disney. Its pretty simple.

Sometimes it does. We cannot justify spending certain amounts on buffets or steaks that are just okay as an example. We do try to find a good value of things. Not to say we won't go for more upscale dining, but we're less likely to do it with Disney because we find the quality to be lacking for prices. It's good with us though, as we're used to doing 1-2 meals in our room a day (villa) so it's not a huge focus on us anyway.

Can I mention also, there are allot of very good food options that are not super 'ritzy' and break the bank in costs at WDW, infact some will argue they are as good or better than the more spendy sit downs. Its totally fine to treat yourself sometimes also. But know what to expect atleast, check the menu prices in advance, make sure there is something you actually want to eat, it helps in mental preparedness also, which may in turn, make you feel less guilty.

But remember, fancy places are not like normal restaurants .. more quality, less quantity, as observed by most high class places. Do not expect to have that roll me out of there feeling.
