does coronado have a food court

May seem like a strange question, but we like quick meals for breakfast not necessarily table service. So I'm wondering if Coronado has a food court with many of the same things like at the All star resorts. I really like the waffles and pancakes and things like that, but do they also have quick items like yogurt, doughnuts, fruit and cereal or is it all "table service" meals?
Thanks in advance

Yes, they have the food court, which is called the Pepper Market, and they also have a little place where you can buy pastries and yogurt and such. I can't remember what that place is called, but it's right up the hallway from the Pepper Market. That is also the place where you would get your coffee or other beverage for your refillable mug.

They do have a food court, the pepper market, but it is run by an outside company. Prices at the Peeper Market are considerably higher than the other food courts on property and, in the case of breakfast, without a comparable increase in quality. It also carries a 10% service charge for the wait staff if you eat there. I would avoid it unless you are on the DDP.

You can avoid the service charge by taking food to go. The food there is a little higher but the portions are bigger and the food is better. Everything is made to order and has been very good on all my trips. If you are on the dining plan I would consider that for your QS points often.

Cafe Rix.

Also you can avoid the 10% service charge at PM by getting food to go. But even w/o the service charge PM is still more expensive than the other resorts' food courts.

I actually very much like the Pepper Market. For lunch and dinner in particular, the food is, IMO, much better than at other food courts around property. This food court isn't your traditional food court, though, in that there is limited waitress service (drinks, clearing plates, etc, with a 10% service charge) and you get real silverware and plates, not disposable stuff. The food options are also a little bit more upscale than most food courts. You can also order to go from the Pepper Market.

Coronado also has Cafe Rix, which provides grab and go type stuff including salads, sandwiches, muffins. I think ther are limited grill items as well (hot dog, hamburger, etc.).

I like PM too, but all 3 times I've stayed at Coronado I've had the (free) DDP.

If I were not on the DDP I'd stay somewhere else with a less expensive food court.

Smart move, IMO its the best value for QS points hands down. Aside from that I don't know of any other food court on property that is that good.

We just returned and we didn't care for the PM. It's seating-you-with-a-waitress-yet-still-being-an-overpriced-foodcourt really left something to be desired for us. Aside from the food which was marginal, the place left me feeling like they couldn't decide whether they wanted to be sit-down or quick-service. Awkward and over-priced are two words I would use. We used Cafe Rix a few times, as it was much easier, but overall we felt CSR's quick dining options have their shortcomings. The fridge in the room made it much easier to stock milk and Cherrios.

We just got back from there. We ate dinner at Pepper Market one time. I will never do that again. The staff was terrible and food was not good. Barely ate any of it and left. Worst dining experience on property for us. We were on the dining plan so no cost to us for that meal. I liked Coronado as a resort and would stay again in a heartbeat but I would never eat at Pepper Market again. Rix was ok for a quick bite on the go. The breakfast sandwiches were good.

We've eaten at the PM many times. The food is not that bad. The portions are a good size. There is no real wait staff. They seat you and get you drinks, that's about it. I've never eaten at any other mod resort so I don't have anything to compare it to. But it is a very festive atmosphere, if that counts towards anything.

I totally agree! I HATED the Pepper Market. First and LAST time ever staying at CSR. I had read so many wonderful reviews of the property, so I switched our ressie to CSR from CBR. The queen beds were the only thing I liked. The resort was WAY too big, and we were placed in Ranchos building 72. There was no way I was walking all the way to the main building. And the bus service was the WORST! Waited over half an hour for an EPCOT bus in the morning! HATED IT!!!!

Cafe Rix was nice but extremely small. Nothing like the value or mod food courts, probably more like Roaring Forks at Wilderness. You could barely move in the place when it's even remotely busy. It does work for a quick bite to eat, I just wouldn't depend upon it for any meals other than breakfast.

We didn't try the Pepper Market but loved our quick two nights at CS otherwise. The room decor and general ambiance of the resort is unmatched by any other mod IMO. It is big and a bit different due to the convention center, but we really enjoyed it. It's especially nice if you need two beds. Two queens is night and day from two doubles!

CSR was too big but CBR isn't? CBR is bigger and CSR. To each thier own but I thought that was odd to say CSR is too big compared to CBR.

I never stayed at either resort. The only other Mod I stayed at was PORS. I was going to try CBR, but so many people said CSR was the best. I guess that's why there's chocolate and vanilla--everyone has their own preference. I prefer to never stay at Corando again. And I forgot to mention the stupid golf carts mowing me down everytime I walked on resort walkways.
Rix was fine, but the Pepper Market was the worst. Had to wait in line for a table. Had to wait a really long time in 2 different lines for an omelet and waffles. Our meals were almost finished when 'Olga' finally came by to get our drinks. She gave me the wrong beverage, and when I asked for the beverage I had ordered, she muttered to herself (I think in Spanish) and never came back. I went to the waitress station and got it myself. Pop and PORS have MUCH better Food Court flow. Perhaps it's just more catered to business clientele. I'd rather spend my time waiting in lines for rides, not a meal at a food court or for bus transportation. And I had a question for the concierge. I said "I have a question for you" and he said "I have an answer for you". Then, he didn't know the answer, so he said he 'didn't know'. I joked with him and said 'Hey, you said you had an answer for me!" and he said "Want a different answer, ask somebody else". I just didn't feel any Disney love at CSR. Neither did several other guests at the pool/laundry.
Staying at the Grand Floridian for a few nights at the end of the trip redeemed my love for Disney.

I have been at CSR several times now, by my count around 4-5. Never once did I have an issue as bad as you describe. I do love POR as well and it has a much better layout but compared to CBR it is more of a moderate feel when I think CBR feels more like a value. The transportation at CSR has always been top notch for me as well. I often visit other resorts and have yet to see one that I liked as much as Coronado. It is my favorite resort that i have stayed at for sure.

I am right there with you on Pepper Market. The place is terrible all around. I know what you mean about the golf carts mowing you down. They go way too fast on those sidewalks with people around. Other than that we liked it there. Quiet and the grounds were well kept. An eye appealing resort. The buses were slow mid day. Before and after park closing they were fast.

We had pretty good luck with transportation. In fact, having bus stops closer to the room as opposed to herding everyone to the main building was worth the extra money to us. The only downside was just our dumb luck. At least 3 or 4 times we were waiting for a bus, we seemed to select the wrong destination. Example...Two DHS buses...three for MK...one for DAK...three for DD/TL on the day we're going to Epcot. There was no shortage of transportation; it just wasn't going where we were. Just one of those weeks, I suppose.
