Does changing to split stays endanger dinner reservations

As noted in my other thread, I lost out on enjoying some discounts for stay at the Poly this coming April. I've done all my planning up to this point specifically dinner reservations.

One thought I had was splitting my stay between two resorts. Stay at the Pop for a couple of nights and then the rest for the Poly. I could conceivably save close to a 1,000 on a move like this.

We've split our stays before and I have a decent understanding, but we did this from the get go, now that we're locked and loaded with everything (but the fast passes) set, would changing the Poly reservation from a Thursday to a Saturday remove any reservations I had during that time?

Hi Tuvalu, thanks for the reply; wouldn't many people just cancel their Disney resort and book a cheaper non Disney one? (I really want to stay at Wyndham Bonnet creek: right by CRB gorgeous pools, beautiful large rooms with bunk beds! At a fraction of the cost, But it's not officially Disney) Thanks for any input..I'm worried about this.
Programmers would/should then need to consider the reverse - those with existing dining reservations and are staying offsite who then cancel their offsite reservations to stay onsite, the programmers would then need to either create the proper links to the onsite reservation or cancel those dining reservations.

It's not worth the time and effort.

It happens more time than you can count.

People book a week long room only stay at a value, book their dining 180 days out, and then cancel their reservation and get a full refund shortly after.

I think it happens more for FP bookings than ADRs. And that loophole is very easy to close, and they probably will.

Don't forget anyone can book an ADR at 180 days. The advantage is a slight one, for those hard to get reservations. Most are available afterwards, if not immediately, then after people start cancelling. I very much doubt many go to those lengths for an ADR.

You would be mistaken.

People jump through hoop after hoop and even straight up pay for hard to get ADRs.

Go on any of the WDW fan pages on facebook and you will see an endless string of "How to I get "insert restaurant here" reservations?" threads.

The number of people that book and cancel resort reservations to get 180 + 10 dining booking privileges might be small in comparison to the total that don't, but there are still plenty that do it.

When I was a TA for Kingdom Konsultants I had people go one step further and try to get me to do it for them on a number of occasions.

Wow! Thanks for that, I had no idea.

Getting an FP for FoP or Alcatraz? Yep, I can absolutely see people doing anything possible. An ADR? Sheesh. The only one I could perhaps understand would be CRT.

With the way things currently are CRT might be in the top 5 at best. BoG, Ohana and Chef Mickey are all the rage these days.
