Does anyone remember the Muppet stage show?

I can't forget this one bit from the Muppet stage show that used to be at Disney-GMG. Kermit asks where Animal was. He finds out that Animal is driving the monorail to Disney-MGM. Kermit say, "But the monorail doesn't go to MGM!" All of a sudden a monorail, with Animal as its driver, crash lands on the stage... smoke and all. Animal gets out of the crashed train unscathed and says "It does now!"

Does anyone else remember this?

Yep. It was called "Here Come The Muppets" and was where "Voyage of the Little Mermaid" is now. It was a pretty cute show and, yes, I remember the monorail gag very well (actually, it's one of the only parts of the show I still remember).

I loved that show! It's still one of my favorites. I have that on video somewhere ...

Do you remember the stage show called "Mickey's Magical TV world" at the Magic Kindgom?

I remember the show. Probably the best suit show ever. All the characters actually mouthed their lines (I guess that was a Jim Henson touch), which added to the illusion. I don’t have it on tape, but I do have some photos. I think as soon as the Muppet 3D film came out they ditched the live show. Which was a pity.

I remember it! :sohappy: We actually have it on tape. I loved the monorail part! I also remember Mickey's Magical TV World! That show rocked! It showed the Gummi Bears, Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, Ducktales who could ask for more!?!? ;)

Mickey's Magical TV World was a great show! I have countless photos of it. If I can dig them up, I will post them. If I remember correctly, the show was refurbished and the Care Bears were taken out and replaced by Bonkers if i'm not mistaken.

Yep. They changed the show every year so it would reflect what shows were currently on the Disney Afternoon. Here are the various versions as I remember them:

1) Gummi Bears, Duck Tales, Tale Spin, Chip and Dale
2) Darkwing Duck, Duck Tales, Tale Spin, Chip and Dale
3) Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, Tale Spin, Chip and Dale
4) Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, Tale Spin, Bonkers

That's all the versions I remember. I thought I heard somewhere that there was a version with Marsupalami, but I never saw it so I can't be sure.

Nope. When Henson died and the acquisition fell through, they shut the show down. (And ditched the plans for a whole Muppet-themed land at the same time.) I believe that they actually turned it into a parade for a short while before killing it completely.

I remember seeing the show with Marsupalami, but since I never really cared for that cartoon, I don't remember too much about it. I was always a big fan of Duck Tales, Rescue Rangers, and Darkwing Duck, so seeing the show without those characters was no big deal.

Disney Afternoon...*sigh* Man was that ever a HUGE part of my childhood!

I hear that. I don't remember the Muppet Show but I do remember the Disney Afternoon show. That was a huge part of my childhood as well. Plus that show had my favorite cartoon characters from Ducktales and Gummi Bears. That show was awesome.
