Does anyone know the best Disney "from the parks" CD?

A few years ago I had one. I don't know where it got to. It had Small World, Pirate's Life for me, stuff like that on it. I actually bought it at the stores. Anyways what is the best one? Just a CD with the parks songs on it that's all.

I just ordered this set a few weeks ago, and it is fantastic. Nearly 8 hours of park music, area noise and on-ride audio. It's based on Disneyland specifically, but most of the tracks will be familiar to WDW fans.

However, I don't believe Disney sells it anymore, so it's only available secondhand at a heavy markup. I think it's worth it personally.

Man, I LOVE that "A Musical History Of Disneyland" boxed set! It's the pride and joy of my Disney Park Music collection, as it is so thorough and has complete attraction soundtracks and "ride throughs" from most of the attractions! Like you said, since there is overlap between DL and MK attractions, a lot of these attraction soundtracks are for MK attractions, as well! I love how it's sequenced land by land, as if you are taking a full-day tour of the park (past and present), almost in "real time", but with no lines!

One thing about the Amazon price: I don't think it's too bad - I'm pretty sure I paid more when the set first came out and I got it directly from the parks, than the $ 91.68 Amazon is asking for a new copy!

That's what I like too. You start out with Walt's opening day speech, head up Main Street, circle the park (hitting current and past attractions) and end up right back in front of the castle for the fireworks at the end of Disc 5. It really does feel like a day in the park.

And I didn't know the price was that comparable to the original retail mark, so that makes me feel better about what I paid for my set. :)

I love that! And then after the Closing Announcement at the end of Disc 5, you get to stay in the park for an "encore" disc with the 3 Disneyland Christmas overlays (CBJ, IASW, HM), and THEN Main Street Electrical Parade and Fantasmic! How cool is it that on this simulated audio day at the park, they manage to change out the Bear show twice in the same day! (from the original to the Vacation Hoedown, and then the Christmas show).

And you can experience Carousel of Progress AND America Sings on the same "day" in the same park! And Swiss Family Treehouse AND Tarzan's Treehouse, etc.!

I could go on and on about how much I love this set! Producer Randy Thornton, who also produces the "Official Albums," and produced the restored Animated Classic film soundtrack CDs (such as Dumbo, Bambi, etc) really outdid himself with this project!

I would love it if he was given free reign to do a similar project for WDW - not just for MK, but for all the parks! :)
